Keane makes some good points aimed at the administrators of the game in Ireland however the France goal was still outrageous.

keanes just bitter, nothing more nothing else, its totally irrelevant the ball dropping in the box he handled it you spoon and there keeper was there ready to take a goal kick. Since keane went into management he's become abit of a ball bag.

Keane was mostly right but he may be bitter into the bargain. In fairness his point about the FAI has been consistent all along. He clearly has a chip on his shoulder but legitimately so imo.
The FAI are literally begging the FFF to replay the game who are going to hide behind FIFA.
What a retarded waste of time, a pathway which is demeaning Irish football fans. John Deleany must be crazy if he thinks he can expect anything other than cowardice from a Frenchman. What a fool the man is, has history taught us nothing?
We've had our say but now is the time to accept that there isn't going to be a rematch, nor should there be. I don't mind talking til the cows come home about Henry cheating, it is a very acceptable discussion for supporters. I expect different from those in charge.
In the end we look at the matter as fans and the only thing of interest to us is the handball. That matters to professionals too but football is their job.
The fact the ball was allowed to bounce, the fact that Ireland managed to squander five guilt edged chances over two legs, the fact that we were wretched at Croke Park- would be the main point of analysis for a pro and that is where Keane is coming from.
The very fact that no one in the Irish camp but Keane has raised this is telling. Sure it was a great performance in Paris by our standards but what keane is saying that concentrating at the back 98% of the match often is not good enough.

What a fool the man is, has history taught us nothing? The FFF have come out today and said that they would replay the match if that is what was decided after a SECOND appeal. Henry has said the game should be replayed. Fuck it, I think we should make a mockery of all procedure and replay every game that has had a blatent mistake made. Should we make this retroactive? Or just for a month and a half? I say a month and a half because by the time we have replayed all the games that need replayed in that time we'll be in May.

I think it's maybe gone to far with the whole asking for a replay thing. Everyone is gutted, and it's ruined people's dreams, but it's too late. You can't set a precedent for this, cos everyone who feels hard done by in future is going to say "you let them have a replay, so why not us?".
Keano was spot on with most of what he said. I quoted a funny bit in the other thread for this, before I knew that one was here. He says about dropping them an email, which I laughed at. They've caught him on a bad day, and when he's in a mood like that, he blurts all sorts out.

Firstly, there is no way on earth you can have a replay, what happens if ireland win the replay 1-0 through a dubious penalty decision? would france then have the right to a replay? the ref got it wrong, it was a huge mistake that has cost an entire country a world cup dream. fact of the matter is that the french national team has had many helping hands throughout, the rules for seeding teams was changed mid competition to increase the frenchs chances. the governing body is a joke a the moment and is totally biased to wards france. look at the points, the heads of both FIFA and UEFA are french, youve got the 'joules rimet' trophy, the Henri Delaunay trophy for the euros. its a fooking joke, the french have been running football for years and enough is enough. back to the original point though, its typical roy keane, he has point but went about saying it all wrong.

Make all internationals last 4 weeks. Watch United all year round. ;D

My prediction is that Fifa will introduce officials beside the goals like in the UEFA cup which would give a lot more coverage for incidents in the penalty area.

People who think there should be a replay are complete and utterly stupid.
Yes, there was an injustice. Yes, it's difficult to handle if you're an ROI fan, player or manager or whatever but it happens all the time in football. Imagine if Robbie Keane had handled it and ROI went through - would we be hearing all this? Course not.
Granting a replay would be ridiculous - imagine the amount of matches that would be replayed every season.

He obviously has a massive grudge against the people who run the national team FAI. Love Keano's rants though, thoroughly enjoyed the press conference!

Roy is full of sh**** as usual. He likes his bitter. It will be very hard to measure any decision in the WC knowing that France got there by condoned cheating. I love football. Most of the men I play with would have done the honourable thing and called that goal back. Money really f***s these people up in terms of priorities. Did he really think he would be a hero for that? It is very shameful.
