Those saying they are dissapointed in andersson and consistensy, lets remember the potential he has and past great who weren't Greats until they reached 30, people like zidane and xavi. Now im not saying he will be better or maybe not as even as good, but both those players reached their peaks after 30 so. Particularly xavi who for some reason many tout as the greatest CM in history, forgetting he was seen as surplus to requirment 4 years ago. andersons not playing the same game as zidane and xavi, two of the most intelligent players of our lifetime. ando has skill, and we know he is fast and strong, but he's an instinctive rather than an intelligent player in my view. a fairer comparison would be with more all-action midfielders rather than the string-pullers Fair, but I was just trying to make out we should be paitent and not get on his back (not like anyone is doing that in particular), and remember not everyone is amazing at 22 like fabregas and inesta. I will say though he needs to learn to be more clever tactically, and realise holding the ball is better than trying to force the pass, or maybe just run past a player to open up a simple forward pass. In reagrds to another poster talking about 442 being an issue, I don't agree. all formations have positive and weakness. We are dealy on the wings, due to personal and also formation. You saw against city 442 played with high tempo can kill teams. we just need to playing at a hihger tempo. All formation have weaknesses and strength its how your personal fit into that and how you as a team perform.

We've needed a midfielder since, well since this man got old and lost his way; 'I'd waited long enough. I fucking hit him hard. The ball was there (I think). Take that you cunt. And don't ever stand over me sneering about fake injuries' there's only one.

Somebody wrote on Twitter; 'So if Anderson is the answer, what is the question?'.
I thought it was quite amusing.
Since joining us 4 years ago he has scored 4 times in the League and has 8 assists. Shocking.

Here's my take on our midfielders;
Carrick - quality at times, but most of the time he's too cautious and prioritises keeping possession over trying to create something. When you can pass like he can, that's just a waste.
Fletcher - not as good as some people think. He is an average player. He's certainly not a creative midfielder, and he's not really the defensive midfielder some label him as. He's a hard worker, and he can put in some fantastic performances, but he should not be a regular starter for us.
Giggs - past his best. Is our most creative midfielder, but doesn't have the legs to compete against the best and fastest midfields. He's a player that should be coming off the bench to pick out that killer pass when we need it the most.
Anderson - lacking something that can make him great. He has the acceleration and ability to just skip pass players, he has an eye for a killer pass and the ability to execute it. He is capable of getting in to the box to score goals and he is as strong as an ox. Why isn't he one of the best midfielders in the world already? He can pick up the ball, drive past two opponents and pick out a killer pass one minute. Then the next he'll get the ball and ping a 60 yard pass to absolutely no-one.
Cleverley/Pogba/Morrison - right now their potential is the only reason to get excited about our midfield. Cleverley has looked good so far, but it's too early to get carried away. One thing I'm sure about, they would be better off coming in to a team alongside a Sneijder or Goetze than one with our current array of midfielders.

ManUtd.com
Jeremy Cross writes in the Daily Star...
Ferguson hot for Wesley Sneijder Sir Alex Ferguson will break the bank to land Wesley Sneijder in a £40m deal that he hopes will see Manchester United remain champions. Fergie was left stunned by United’s capitulation to bitter rivals Manchester City in Sunday’s 6-1 derby defeat at Old Trafford. Now he is set to act by telling United’s owners the Glazers to spend whatever it takes to land Sneijder in the January transfer window. The Holland and Inter Milan ace has been a long-term target of Fergie’s. He spent the whole of last summer trying to sign him but failed to thrash out a deal with the Italian giants. The Scot was left frustrated as United refused to meet Inter’s asking price while Sneijder was demanding in excess of £200,000 a week. But Fergie remains a big fan of the midfield schemer and knows he would be the ideal replacement for Paul Scholes, who retired in the summer.

Intriguing. I'm probably in the minority, but we should drop the Sneijder interest.

Oh yeah, wasnt a comment on you - was about the fact that its yet another sneijder story.
If we sign him, great. If not, so be it.
But please stop with the rehashed stories ffs. Papers should be made to give money to charity everytime they write a transfer rumour that doesnt come true. Might stop em writing the same shite all the time

I think the midfield is weaker than Chelsea and City's which is worrying. When fully fit these are the most used obvious of the 3 teams
Chelsea
Essien, Lampard, Ramires, Mata, Malouda
City
De Jong, Barry, Nasri, Toure, Silva
United
Anderson, Cleverley, Nani, Young, Carrick
That United midfield wouldn't strike fear in to teams like the line up of Beckham, Giggs, Keane and Scholes did. We'd won the midfield before we even kicked a ball.
I don't know if Wesley is the answer at the price quoted. I'd like to see SAF go after Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Giggs is nowhere near our most creative player. Cleverley is, by a mile.

Twenty-four years he's waited for a chance, So tell Wesley fuck off, give Gibbo a second glance, Debt repayments must be made so the cry it goes up for Gibbo... Gibbo, "fucking shoot it" Gibbo.

Giggs is nowhere near our most creative player. Cleverley is, by a mile. Really? He's convinced you of that in four matches has he? How many of our central midfielders really have the vision and technique of Giggs? Not just that, but he is also calm in tense situations. He's just lost pace and stamina, which comes from ageing.

I've been saying we've needed a midfielder or two since the inception of this board, and that was pre-Moscow, and I was still saying post-Moscow we needed midfielders. You can never have too many good midfield players.
