 The Derby
« Thread Started on Nov 27, 2008, 10:35am »

We travel to Citeh on Sunday on the back of some indifferent away form and a severe lack of away goals. This game is always an enormous game in our calender but after recent results this one takes on even more significance.

Citeh will be out to prove that they really are massive after all and will want to follow on from convincingly defeating Arsenal by getting stuck in to us from the first whistle.

It seems like too long now since we really handed out a beating to our neighbours considering the success we have had over the last couple of years and its time to put that right.

Its time for our lads to step up on Sunday, we have had our warning shots in the league and its time to stop talking and waiting for 'it to click' and send out a message that we mean business.

As for the team:
Hopefully Berba and maybe even Scholesy will be back in contention.

The right back selection will be very interesting.

We desperately need to get the balance right in midfield as they will work their socks off.

To be honest i cant wait, i have got a very good feeling about this one.

This game is massive for us.....do or die as Rooney said....hope Berbatov is back in action and Rafael gets a chance at RB. City will come in this game very optimistic based on their last game and wil try to prove they are as good as top4.....I am not very optimistic about this one and can't see past draw here...hope more than ever our lads prove me wrong!!

Berba to partner Rooney if he's fully fit.

I'm very optimistic about this match and i'm sure our players would go all out to win.

2-0 with Rooney scoring.

pretty confident about this one to be honest, should have rooney playing which we didnt last year and that makes a big difference if he's on song, so here's hoping for a good rooney performance! having said that, i would rather play 5 in midfield, pretty much the same team as on wednesday, apart from berbatov as the focal point and rooney on the left (sorry tevez fans), that way you get the industry of park with someone who can beat a man and score as well. and also need to make a decision on the right back, is rafael the choice? i really don't want to give him the oppurtunity to learn some harsh lessons due to his positional sense in this match, but he's such a talent and one on one defending he looks pretty solid and never overawed so im not sure how id feel if he started. wish brown was back! side point, touch wood, but is ronaldo a machine, i mean come sunday he will have played 4 away games in a week and a half and that includes trips to spain and brazil, yet the guy still looked bright late in the game on tuesday, his fitness levels are immense!

If Berba is fit then you could to be looking at a fluid 3 of Ronaldo, Berba and Rooney ahead of Anderson, Fletch and Carrick for me. Let the full backs bomb on and provide some width. Park has wonderful energy but....he should be no more than a useful bench option for games of this magnitude. I certainly wouldn't start him on Sunday. And I don't think I can handle watching Nani again so soon after Tuesday.

yep definetly need a win. not only for our season but to show the citeh that we are the bigger club. its going to be hard but we really need to turn up and play our best, otherwise we will not win. and a win on our behalf might just put liverpoo and chelski under more pressure for a win.

The bitters are really up for this one . the game comes on the back of their 2 nil win last night over Shalke , without Robiniho. To us its must win time even leaving aside its the derby, back to back defeats last season dont help.Cant say im confident because im not.

Its not that i feel Citeh are good , they aint . But teams that are willing to get stuck into us, have denied us points.

We need a 90 min display of what United is about , sharp & accurate passing . Not giving away loose balls or passes. Solid and not tame attempts on goal.

Jeez i hate the bitters

You, could, you know, not go!

Not confident at all about this. We lack bite in midfiled, both defensively and offesively at the moment, if Hargreaves and Scholes were fit, we'd be fine but we don't.

I can see City battering us 2 or 3 - 0.

Yer, not getting out of this one, believe me I've tried.

I think we can just edge this game though, it will be tough.
2-1 I think, Tevez and Rooney.

Dimitar Berbatov to show Robinho why he should have told City to fuck off as well.

I hope you Mancs who travel over there give them the "Berbatov told you to fuck off" song because I know within the next 2 years when City win the Carling Cup or something irrelevant there will be a huge bunch of asian's here wearing their tops...fucking glory hunters gives the rest of us asians a bad name.
