Thought I'd get started on this. hard to pick a side as there are so many injury worries but here goes
VDS
Nev, Vidic, JOS, Evra
Ronaldo, Giggs, Fletcher, Park
Rooney, Tevez
It's been obvious that several players are jaded and in need of a rest but I've only really left out Carrick. If Rooney misses out I'd bring in Nani and push Ronaldo up top. Seems like quite a few of the injured will be back for the FA cup semi, so we have to get through the next week and win this somehow. It'll be tight, Sunderland are shite but are fighting for their lives. But Tevez, Giggs and particularly Rooney seem determined to do something about this slump. It won''t be pretty, it won't be fun, but it'll be 2-1 to Utd and we'll get ourselves back on track.

oh what i wouldnt give to have Essien in our team, or at least Hargo.
im thinking basically the same as you, but CM is the position im not sure about. what about giving Gibson a run out? becuase Carrick and Scholes may aswell have been glued to the floor against Porto and they would have been better.

A month ago I would have said this match would be a walk in the park, now not so much. Sunderland putting 10 men in front of goal could make this a tough one for us. I think we can win but no drubbing I'm afraid.
1-0 United

time for a wake up call foster fabio oshea vidic evra gibson fletcher giggs nani rooney tevez
give fabio a go, and try him on the right. if rafael of wes are fit start them and put fabio on the left for evra. rest ronaldo, carrick, scholes and park got to play rooney and tevez, esp if sunderland are going to park the bus. give gibson a go. and nani a chance to play a bit more. and giggs too. thats the line up i would go with, and please SAF if theres no ergency or tempo change things around

I agree, we need to get some young legs out onto the pitch to rest a few people.
VDS
Fletcher - O'Shea - Vidic - Evra
Ronaldo - Gibson - Giggs - Nani
Rooney - Tevez
Have Foster, Scholes, Neville, Carrick, Park, and Macheda on the bench.
We really need to get Rio, Wes, and Anderson healthy for the stretch run.

we need to have an attacking side against sunderland cuz they r goin to have 10 men at the back so we need our left and right backs to be fast enough to create some threat and take off the pressure from the wingers,so oshea shudnt play,id rather see neville in the middle along with vidic and fletcher whose been amazing on the right. we also need some fresh legs in the middle, i agree that Gibson is capable of havin a good performance.
Fletcher - Neville - Vidic - Evra
Ronaldo - Gibson - Carrick - Nani
Rooney - Tevez

We need to refrain from throwing in the entire youth squad but some of them need to be involved to provide some spark and energy.
Van Der Sar G.Neville O Shea Vidic Evra Ronaldo Gibson Fletcher Nani Rooney Tevez
If we get into a winning position I really think its important to give Fabio a run-out if he makes an instant impact like his apparently less talented brother then he can play a huge role in the title race...same goes for Eckersley...we need defensive back up.
Gibson is a new option and he's been mature whenever he's played so I'd like to see him thrown in as well.Macheda to be thrown on for Nani as Rooney shifts to the wing if we are struggling could be another option

I very much doubt that the likes of Gibson, Fabio and Foster are going to feature much in a crucial match in a title run in. Particularly against a releagtion threatened side away from home. If this game was in January maybe. Far too late for it now.

I dont see anyway all three of them will be thrown in but I would really like to see Gibson feature for this one, good range of passing, good eye for goal and he's dedicated to the cause as well being a local lad.
Like I said if we get a comfortable lead(which I cant see happening unfortunately)then Fabio needs to get a run-out!

Tough game against a side facing relegation. I think the good thing is that Newcastle are away at Stoke, so maybe Sunderland will be thinking that there are easier games to be won and a loss won't be the worst thing in the World. Facing sides in that position is always tough, and with our form at present, we can't take anything for granted.
EVDS Neville O'Shea Vidic Evra Ronaldo Fletcher Giggs Nani Rooney Tevez
I think Nani will start as Fergie was talking about Park looking tired. Hopefully Carlos will be raring to go now too. Left Carrick out as I feel he needs a rest, and this could be a key game for Giggs and Fletch has possibly been our best player over the last couple of games (at a stretch). I'm gonna go for a 2-0 United win and Liverpool will beat Blackburn, so we'll need a win.

Hello All,
New to the forum, thought I'd jump into this thread to start off! I think we are going to see some youth out there right off the bat. SAF has stated multiple times that the CL is his priority, although he is taking the league seriously, we will definitely see some of the usual suspects if not on the bench, out of the side entirely. Some of the players are desperate for a rest (Ronaldo, Evra), and there isn't really going to be too many opportunities for one bar the Everton match.
I'll take a shot at the lineup, but this may be one of the hardest ones to call all season!
------------------------VDS----------------------- --Neville---O'Shea----Vidic------Evans--- -Welbeck---Gibson----Fletcher----Nani-- ------------Tevez-----Rooney-----------------
Gibson is more than capable of slotting into our side nowadays, especially against lower level sides, some fresh legs in Welbeck would be nice, and he could be subbed for Park if things aren't going well for him, and I guarantee Evans is rushed back for this one. It's going to be an interesting match, that's for sure.
I say 3-1 to the good.

If Evans is rushed back I very much doubt he'll be played left back!, JOS will play there if thats the case and he should, he was great at left-back while Evra was out...not as much on the right.
Welbeck on the wing could be interesting....its going to be very interesting to see the line up for this one

Like I said if we get a comfortable lead(which I cant see happening unfortunately)then Fabio needs to get a run-out! I can't remember the last time we had a comfortable lead in the league... The home game wouldn't suggest an easy win here either. Obviously the 3 points are the most important, but we really need a classy win to strike some fear into people. Nobody fears us at the moment, and Sunderland will think they can get a result. We need a few early goals and really stylish win to just remind everyone that we're champions of the world for a reason. Saying all that....1-0 late and rather dubious. PS (and off topic)...am I the only one not buying all this Gerrard injury crap???
