Goal difference won't come into it. Utd won't blow this now.

The games in hand only bring us to 6 points ahead...which given our poor goal difference is really only 5. Unless something else happens...we need a result at home vs Arsenal. Unless something happens? Can you please elaborate on what you mean please

Gerrard hails 'big point' at Anfield
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard believes the stunning 4-4 draw with Arsenal could have yielded a 'big point' in the Premier League title race.
Andrey Arshavin's four goals at Anfield appeared to have all but ended the Reds' championship hopes despite strikes from Fernando Torres (two) and Benayoun, but the Israeli struck again deep into injury-time to at least put the Merseysiders on top for 24 hours. Liverpool are now level with Manchester United, albeit having played two games more, and Gerrard told Sky Sports: "They have a fantastic team and you look at their run-in, look to see where they are going to drop points - it would have been very difficult if we'd lost the game. "I think that point could be big" Gerrard, who did not play on Tuesday night due to injury, added: "It's not like us to concede that many goals like we have tonight. We're normally sound defensively, especially at home." "We'll have to wait and see how big that point could be for us. "Performance-wise, at times we were very good. Torres and Benayoun were frightening going forward. "Now we need United to get beaten which is difficult to do because they're a good team. But there are still twists and turns left."
I'm guessing Stevie is a glass half full kinda guy.

Unless something happens? Can you please elaborate on what you mean please On May 13th we play Wigan away. At that time we wil have played the same number of games as Liverpool, and if both United and Liverpool win all their games in between, we will be 6 points ahead of Liverpool with 2 games left. If Liverpool and United are tied on points as is presently the case, they go ahead of us because their goal difference is better than ours. Since they go ahead if we're tied, it's realistically only like a 5 point lead. If nothing happens...means if Liverpool don't drop anymore points.

Inspired choice from Sky puttin stevie me in the studio, top, top pundit! 'Reina's the best keeper in the world,'torres best striker in the world','torres was best goal of the night'. Nice unbiased analysis! Great seeing him with a face like a smacked arse at half time, and full time looking shell-shocked tryna dress it up as a point gained.

Can I just say putting all rivalry aside that the Dippers have produced two of the best games ive seen this season. But fuck em lol! Totally agree, today's game was well worth setting the alarm at 04.55 for and fingers crossed tomorrow's will be too! In the meantime, I'll just doze at my desk... #sleep#

All I'll say thank fuck Arshavin isn't playing in the semi-finals of the CL, a real quality individual, english football is piss easy for him at the minute, he's the first to score 4 at that hole in 60 years.
Anyway I thought arsenal should of won and made it ten times easier but Its all about tonight, a win against portsmouth and we have one hand on that 18th title, I can smell it now gents, I thought this day would never come but we are on the verge of equalling 18 titles which will really hurt those wankers, only another knighthood would smash it further home.

The game gave me heart palpitations. Bit pissed that they conceded to Benayoun in the last minute. Anyways , I think we need to put the title to bed before we play Arsenal. The scousers were laughing about our defence now they've conceded 8 in two game. But they are scoring for fun and I don't see them slipping up until the end of the season. We need to win the next 4-5 games.

Liverpool can score all they want but if they keep conceeding 4 a game we are laughing, our defense is back together and water tight again after a few rocky weeks. If we win tonight and our game in hand it doesn't matter about the arsenal game, win the next 4 and that takes us up to wigan, win it and that should be enough, alot depends on the energy the team will have, liverpool have a week between games now, our biggest obstacle is fatigue.

Interesting match, certainly not one which will be remembered for it's defensive displays. Glad that Liverpool dropped points though.
