I think if look at the set times it tells the story. Took Murray nearly an hour to beat Nadal to get his nose in front. It was so much of an effort just to match then beat Nadal once, Murray couldn't keep it up.
I don't think it's a fitness issue, it's a Nadal is ridiculously good issue. Like Barcelona vs. Us. We weren't particularly shit, they were just really, really good.

Kinda agree with bestie on this. Andy is a better than average player. To be honest he came along at the worst possible time. Since federer and nadals rise in the game only 3 men have taken titles off them, namely marat safin, del potro and novak. This is testament to there greatness in this sport. Andy's best chance in my opinion is on the hard courts. He's already reached 3 finals on that surface. I do hope he wins one someday. Your never gonna compete with nadal physically because he's just a supreme specimen. Andy's problem is he doesn't have any big weapons. He's got a good all round game and is a good returner but he's defensive in his approach. Can't smash a big forehand like nadal or has a big serve to get cheap points off.
If britain has ambitions to be produce a great tennis player it needs to make tennis accessible for kids who don't have lawyers for fathers and tennis courts in there back garden. Its kinda embarrassing that no brit has won it in 75 years.

i think mentally murray collapses, he has the skill set and his fitness is alot better but he does not dig deep down into the well that champions do. on another note as good as tsonga played man does it hurt to see federer losing so much in recent times, the guy on form is simply poetry in motion i guess the twins have had a bigger impact in his life than one would have thought

I think Murray went into the game with defeat in mind, he didn't seem confident right from the off. I don't like the lad but I was edging him on hoping we'd get a real finale, I don't think Nadal will have it easy in the final. Who knows there may even be an upset on the cards!

Novak won, deserved it after the year he's had.

Big fan of both finalists but it was nice to see Djokovic win his first one after having such a great year.

i remember when me and my mates went to the australian open in the year 2006 and we watched the mixed doubles with ivanovic and djokovic. we were giving him so much shit, cos he actually was playing like that. how times have changed..
