Inspired by DriftingRedDevil's thread 74 pages back. And what with All Hallows' Eve coming up. I just wanted to know what people's thoughts were on the paranormal. Has anybody had any experiences? Or does anybody know somebody else who has had any? I can only ever recall one time when I thought I had which I will hold back until we get a few views. Just don't expect to get a RoM Ouija Board going. Those things give me the creeps.

Mate of mine reckons he saw a ghost in the corner of his room at Uni. Appeared to him twice, can't remember the exact details but I do recall he said it was a young-ish girl and she seemed to be made of light (maybe). I also vividly remember that he chose to tell us this while we were driving back from Leeds, on a deserted stretch of motorway in unusually heavy fog and a car with questionable brakes.

No, it's all bollocks. Like religion. Both involve "people" that are not real, and that only appear to "certain" people when no-one else is around. Religion is The Paranormal......

Fucking hell Bestie, sounds like the beginning of a horror film. I'd hate to see a child ghost. Not that an adult ghost or even an animal ghost wouldn't scare me but there has always been something stupidly creepy about children ghosts . My experience, if you want to call it that was in fact around the same time we opened this forum. I lived in Bolton, Hall'Ith'Wood to be precise. In an old Victorian-type house. After finishing up in the bathroom I made my way back across the landing and decided to take a snapshot of the bottom of the stairs as I thought with the light off down there and on upstairs that it created a smart if somewhat eerie look. It wasn't until I showed the girlfriend at the time that she pointed out the 'figure' in the picture. There was a visible outline of a man standing about three steps up, looking down but peering upwards in an evil-grimace sort of way. Perhaps it was my crappy Motorola Razr or maybe even knowing subconsciously that quite a large number of people had died in that house. Either way, it spooked me out.

Yeah, we all really appreciated him telling us at that particular story in those precise circumstances. That's pretty creepy story of your anyway, still got the photo?

Deleted it as it creeped me out. Kicked myself afterwards though as you often get 'Yeah, yeah'. Meh. Fuck em'.

The only 'experience' I had was a few years back at my girlfriends parents house.
It was late and I was on the PC in their study, probably checking RoM before bed no doubt. The study is just off to the side of their kitchen, my girlfriend said she was going to bed so she headed off into the kitchen. I stayed for a few minutes and turned the computer off. I still heard her walking and banging around in the kitchen, so I was asking her a question as I came around the corner... but the kitchen was empty. I went upstairs and she said she had gone straight through and upstairs, I was so convinced she was in there I was already talking before seeing her.
She's always said there was a kitchen ghost, not that I've ever been convinced but if they don't its one hell of a dodgy kitchen with noisy plumbing, flooring etc. Logic overrides it for me though, if these 'spirits' did exist of all the billions of people who've lived and died, you'd think they'd be a bit more widely seen?

You've got to admit though Fletchabey that that is bloody peculiar. Jimbonda, do go on...

well me and a mate of mine used to knock around with this 40-odd year old girl and mum of 2 who used to be a right laugh, we'd all drink and smoke til the early hours, and she was heavily into tarot cards and various spirituality. one night she had a mate down from london and the 4 of us did the seyance, i was kind of bluffing my way through it and not too interested until maybe 30-45 minutes i saw a middle-sized potted plant the other side of the room on a dresser just topple over and hit the floor, we all jumped out of our seats, it was surreal. now i'm not ruling out that it was just a natural occurance or that theres some other explaination - of couse there may have been. but i'm fairly sure she wouldn't have had the means or have been sad enough to have gimmicked the plant in some way so that it would fall of it's own doing. i've never come to any real conclusion over the incident but it is what it is.
