Just thought I'd create this thread to better explain My Opinions.
There are no sexist reasons why I think we shouldn't have a Womens team. I actually believe if Marta is good enough we should sign her up & replace Rooney with her. I'd be fine with that.
Here's a scenario. We create a women's team. We use money that would otherwise be used on transfers to start it up. the team is not going well. Do we leave them floundering at the bottom of the table or do we invest more money that can be used for tranfers?
We're a few years in & we have the most boring manager in the world keeping the United team in an o.k position but not winning. The team is playing the most boring football in the world & taking no interest in youth. the people running the team are happy with it. Do we care? Meanwhile down the road there's another team playing brilliant attacking football with their own version of the class of 92. They are brilliant to watch & you start to feel more attached than the boring team you support because they share the same name as another team you grew up supporting. But they have the united name so you have to right?
This is all hypothetical but this is how I see it possibly working out. Wouldn't we rather choose our own team from either where we live or out of say Manchester Wolves or London City?
Thoughts?

What would that mean to fans. Sorry if confusing, it's mostly my ramblings. I'm interested if other people agree with me or not.

The youth teams consistently win and challenge for honours. It is one of the most famous yuoth systems in world football. Completely different thing, even if you are being sarky.
A women's United team would be utterly, utterly pointless. All women's football for the most part just feels like a 'Well men play, so women should be allowed to.' pointless exercise. The coverage the women's game gets in contrast to the likes of grass roots and lower non-League football does not correlate to actual interest. The average attendance for a WSL game is 573. Arsenal, a really successful team, get about 800.
Nobody fucking cares.

My thing or the non-comparisonability of women's team to youth teams? Or both?

Alright then, why? Can't argue with the figures. How many Women's World Cup games have you asked out of work to watch? Without thinking about it or looking it up, where is it being held? (I do actually know that one, somewhat ironically.)
Nobody cares.

Not really all that bothered, but if we did have one, I'd be interested in it and follow what goes on. Whether I'd make a point of watching them or not is something I can't answer unless it actually happened. As for the rest of Womens football, I'm not that interested, Check for the England scores. It compares to Cricket for me in a way, I'm only ever bothered about it when it's the Ashes, even then I only sometimes watch the highlights

Do Aresnal, Liverpool or any of the major ladies football team have any impact on their male teams, in any way shape or form? I find that very unlikely.

From 2014:
'Casey Stoney, captain of England women's football team, earns £25,000 a year - around the national average wage (£26,500) and a fraction of what her male counterparts earn.'
So how exactly is this Utd ladies team going to impact on Utd's transfer plans? All I can see anywhere is that the record transfer fee paid for a woman footballer is 50 grand. So even if we decided to go 'Galatico' we'd spend at most 5 million on a team.
So absolutely no impact on Utd transfer at all.

No there isn't but do we leave the womens team struggling when we could use money from the mens team to but better players for the womens team? I don't know how the finances work for Chelsea and Arsenal but I would imagine running one of these teams would take a lot of money to start up and it wouldn't start repaying for years. Then I'd imagine we wouldn't be happy with a mediocre team. We'd want the best. More investment (possibly)
