Just thinking out loud really, but with DiMaria being a very expensive mistake, and looking like moving on, Imo His behaviour and lack of effort been an embarrassment to the no:- 7 shirt. Who do we think should inherit it out of the squad that we currently have, or does no one really deserve it ?

I'd say Pedro, he's sick of not being one of the star players, let's give him the no.7 shirt and see what he can do
Otherwise I would have said Memphis, he looks like he would relish being given the no.7 but if Pedros' here then lets just give him 2-3 years without the pressure of it, eliminates the risk of it having the "Valencia Effect" on him

Ronaldo wont happen in this transfer window, no matter how much he hates the fat waiter. He's too close to being Madrids all time scorer and his ego will dictate he won't leave till he's achieved that. He will be there long after the waiter is back serving paella to tourists
I worry that the number 7 may add to much pressure to depay in his 1st season. like you say, it may be unneeded pressure, i would love to be proved wrong though. He has looked lively in pre season, one day i hope he earns the right to wear it...........
Jury is still out for me on pedro, he looks a little lightweight for the prem whenever ive seen.

I would be willing to bet that if Memphis has a bad match that the next thing he does is work that much harder on whatever he thought he did that was not up to what he thinks he should be doing. Then the next match, he'll be that much better. he has the work ethic of all the greats in every sport, and I believe he will definitely end up a legend. As far as the number 7, he might not even want it, he sure has said he doesn't want to be compared to anyone, just himself. He is probably more of a mind to make his squad number legendary in it's own right. I'm glad that he is going to do his "growing" up at United, it is going to be a fun thing to watch happen (unless you are an opposing manager or player)
