I’ve never been his biggest fan but good grief that’s some decline. If he wasn’t an academy player and we had competent men making football decisions we’d get a fair price while his stock is still high. I expect he’ll get a 5 and a half year deal soon enough though. Martial gets hammered while Rashford gets away with it on a weekly basis. His academy status is a big part of that hypocrisy. He can't even do the basics at the moment like controlling a football under no pressure. I've lost patience with him because we need the Rashford of 18 months ago at the present time and we have to rely on a kid to get us a goal. Rashford is long overdue a spell on the bench. He’s always worked best from the bench, same with Martial. Unfortunately both were elevated beyond their capabilities by the previous management.

I agree to some degree, but they paid £113m (apparently) - gigantic fee for a 19 year old. He hit 20 goals in 43 games for Benfica in the season before he left. Since then, he's scored 10 goals in 40 games, and 5* in 25* games in the two seasons thereafter. Not exactly stratospheric numbers, but it's at least partly attributable to playing under Simeone I'd say! Most definitely down to Simeone. The most unwatchable top tier football team in Europe. Even after they had us on the ropes yesterday they didn't dominate like they could have. Said it yesterday he belongs at Real and Bayern. Well put, it's one of the reasons I've been pretty surprised at how many people have wanted Simeone at United. Better than some of the manager's we've recently had, sure, but his style of play and approach to football is (to me) irreconcilable with this club.

Unlike some managers he's won major trophies and deserves alot of respect for turning A Madrid into a competitive football club. The difference between the club when he arrived and now is staggering.

Simply at least for me, it's because he is a serial winner. He's turned a big two into a big three again. Trophies, finals, organisation and player commitment to swoon over. He could be immense for us.

I totally understand what you mean, I suppose I just don't think he'd be given the time to achieve that type of success through his ''pragmatic'' approach to football at United.

What he has done at at Atletico is Fergie Esq at Aberdeen but he would not get the same time in any other Top job.
