Are you taking the piss!!!!! That trite, over-sentimental dirge turns my f**king stomach. You're saying that coz them Dippers have used it for almost 4 decades now eh ? I wouldnt have mind such a song being United's anthem had our fans adopted it back in 1958 when they apparently sung it long before Liverpool and before Celtic. Is it just me or does United doesnt have a known anthem ritual that seems to touch the hearts of anyone and everyone (United and otherwise) who listens to it ?

United's flag is deepest red, It covered all our Munich dead, Before their limbs grew stiff and cold, Their hearts blood dyed its every fold. So keep United's banner high, Beneath its shade we'll live and die, So keep the faith and never fear, We'll keep the red flag flying here We'll never die, we'll never die, We'll never die, we'll never die, We'll keep the Red flag flying high, 'Cos Man United will never die. Liverpool can stick their YNWA up their arse. ;d

We need to sing it more. Hell even I dont know the tune of it

Sorry for the misunderstanding Haha right cheers mate!!!! i thought i said something terrible Smileys are really effective I have to admit though..although i hate them singing it...youll never walk alone is a great song before a game. I think we should sing we'll never die before a game...before everygame make it a ritual as someone said. It gets the atmosphere going and its just better. Those of you in the stretford end get on the case

It's hard for me to take YNWA seriously. As a kid going to United in the early 70s, the song I learned was, "You'll Never Walk Again." With appropriate modifications to the other words of course.
It ranked right up there with the Stretford End parodying the idea of the Kop welcoming away goalkeepers by applauding them as they came to take their place. Of course the United fans would wait until the keeper gave the traditional thankyou wave and then howl with derision.
Ah, the simple pleasures of youth ;D
