Well my hopes are certaintly lifted anyways and I haven't been excited about the World Cup as much since Wayne's metatarsal injury. But, just watching SkySportsNews where they show tomorrow's papers and every paper is plastered with pictures of Waz doing a scissor kick on his right foot (not just the Sun, the sensible papers too). By the pictures it looks as if he is ready for Paraguay never mind Sweden, so he must definitely be ready for the last 16. I'm not getting my hopes up but these pics give me further belief that England can win the World Cup even more because the talismanic figure of Rooney will be fit. Watching England arrive today Wayne looked happy as I've ever seen him he must have had some good news or felt something good!

Yeah I saw them. I’m quite chuffed to say the least, although I’m not holding my breath just yet. I can see him starting on the bench for our first game then coming on afterwards. We wouldn’t want to rush things now would we?

Was just coming on here to post the same thing lol. Can't believe it, somethings got to be up? I thought he wasn't meant to be touching a ball until he is all clear, and now we see him doing acorbatics and pelting the ball? Great news indeed but it does beg the question...is he actually injured?!

I'm very excited about this, but on the other hand he hasn't trained with his team-mates yet, I think that will take place tomorrow, well today (Tuesday). A tackle or challenge could upset his foot, although an acrobatic volley like that does give a lot of impact on a fall, so as Red4Life says it does beg the question, is he injured?...
I think NOOOO! lol!

Here's the front page of the Sun, although the picture is plastered over every single paper!

lol he was never as bad as they made it out to be i dont think...
I think it was a conspiracy!!
SAF took Sven to one side and said.. "Oi, yach goota give the boy a wee time off to leet tha pressure offa him"
..and Sven being very spineless probably tried to get the FA to kick his arse, but they were too busy doing (usually United up the rear..the bastards) somethingelse...
Some randomer gives him a fake foam foot cast and says : chill out for a bit.
Now he's back and its worked both in England's favour and United's... Everyone in the world is now scared of meeting England (if not, they should be), and Rooney has a little less pressure with Mr. Tickle netting some goals for England.

Rooney Latest: Today Rooney took part in a training session with the whole of the squad, Beckham, Terry, & Neville all returned. Ashley Cole sat out again as a precaution for the knock picked up against the Jamaicans.

i think its might be a big consiparacy.....but there is no doubt he was injured.... as fergie would not drop rooney out of important games jus to help england, plus him not training for 4 weeks cant help england.....my theory is that rooney didnt break his foot he just had severe bruising..meaning he could not play or train for a month..... so utd and england just exagerated the injury as a bit of kidology.... i remeber fergie taking giggs off in a game against derby as a few years ago (before a champions league in italy) and saying he was injured n prolly wouldnt make the game in italy.....and suprise suprise giggs was in starting 11.... wenger also uses this tactic

My first impression after the Chelseas game was that he was not actually injured. I just thought it was too much of a coincidence to have a star player go down injured in what was effectively the game that ended the Premiership. I think he was injured but nowhere nearly as badly as everyone was saying. Also the things he was saying after the injury - he seemed quite upbeat like he knew fror sure he was going to make it. I expect him to at least be on the bench, if not start, againt Paraguay.

Even if he is fit I don't think he will be playing in either the Paraguay or the Trinidad games, can see him being on the bench for Sweden but we shouldn't need him. Well buzzin seeing those photos and knowing that he's capable of that but Id be quite happy not to see him kick a ball again until next week at least in case the injury reoccurs. Even if tomorrow's scan gives Waz the all-clear he won't participate or even be on the bench vs. Paraguay he'll be working on his match fitness, maybe on the bench vs. T&T.
I watched the Neville interview today though and he said in 2002 he was at the stage Wayne is now and the scan showed he needed another operation, so we have to be cautious and not get too excited, although I already am!

I think England will do well without out Rooney, as the group isn't that tough. Sweden aren't the threat they used to be and T&T shouldn't pose too much of a problem either. Paraguay is probably going to be tougher as they've got a pretty good squad and have taken six strikers so they're going to come out guns a blazing is my guess. If Rooney plays it should be for a match that he's really needed for so we'll see...

I just hope that when he does come back, he returns with no problems. It would be so dis heartaning to see rooney break down in the world cup. Not just for England but for United next season.
