Ye but he said it only to get that reaction and Zidane, being a veteran should know better, there were NO excuses, he looked like a kid in a schoolyard, not one of the best midfielders/players to ever play the game, he should have put the winner in for Fraqnce to shut him up, now Materazzi is laughing harder than he should dare to

Whatever Materazzi said, it's overshadowed by the fact that Zidane was stupid enough to fall for it.
When a 20 year old player fails to ignore what an oposition player throws at him, you can make excuses. There is no excuse for ZIdane. He is one of the best players the world has ever seen, and no one can argue with that, but it's not the first time he has let his temper get the best of him. At his age, he should have known better, and he ruined the end of what has been a great career. I for one hope people will remember him for his skills rather than his hot headed behaviour.

I still love Zidane no matter what happened. A class player.....to hear some of the TV pundits, you'd think Zidane should go home and kill himself. I actually respect Zidane more for the chest-butt. All those peole who are slagging him off, then think back to Eric at Crystal Palace......Eric was just being human.........Zidane to me, was the only 'superstar' who actually delivered in this world cup.......I blame the fookin' WAGS.....

I don't think anything Materazzi could have said warranted what Zidane did, but Zizou should be remembered for his great skill as a footballer and not this one incident...well then there was 98 too, but you get my point..lol
