Went to see Bruce Foxton, Rick Buckler and the 2 ring-ins over the week-end in their guise as "From The Jam". Must admit, I was a bit dubious being such a big fan of The Jam as I didn't want to spoil my memories of seeing the original line-up back in '77 at the Canterbury Odeon. No fear of that, as it happens! What a top night! The band was great and didn't suffer at all from the absence of a certain Mr Weller (not that anyone could really hear the vocals above the singing of the crowd). I doubt Sydney's ever seen so many Poms with crew cuts and Fred Perry's in one place at the same time. And what a polite mosh pit, people were actually apologising for landing on your feet! All us old farts pogoing around like there was no tomorrow will now be lodged in my memory as another classic life experience. If you're old enough to have been a fan of The Jam I'd recommend you get out to see the new guys if they're anywhere near you soon. #rock# PS If anyone knows the name of Foxton's plastic surgeon, please let me know!
