Well lets keep this thread as the cricket thread as i cant seem to find one......
this season of cricket has seen its fair share of excitement and controversy....
The Australia vs India test series has finally come to an end with Australia winning the series 2-1 and yesterday harbhajan singh was cleared of all racial charges.....
This cricketing season has also seen the retirement of two cricketing greats - South African all-rounder Shaun Pollock and Aussie wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist from test cricket

I just find it a bit weird that this wasn't the first time that Harbajan Singh has been involved in racial abuse cases.
Adam Gilchrist has been a great player to watch over the years but even great players need to retire sometime.

Even i as an indian agree that he has been let off one too many a times....sport should be played clean and if someone tries to harm the sanctity of the game he should be severly punished no matter wat is his nationality or race....The freakin problem in India is that the masses support the cricketers like superstars and they think that whatever allegation is slapped on the cricketers is totally unfair....the people actually dont care abt the sport and i believe that cricket will soon become a 9 to 10 p.m hindi drama show

Karan you saying it isnt a 9-10 drama show yet? Dude last time i went home all my friends in the gully did was talk about cricket. Hell even we never talked about it like that after India won the WC! Bloody hell these guys need to open their eyes and recognize sports like Hockey n Football!!

Despite being Pakistani, I have grown to have a rather intense hatred towards this game since the 2003 WC debacle with our team. At first it was just depression that made me love football. Then a few years passed, when it was more or less okay. 2007 was the final nail in the coffin and I have grown to utterly hate this sport and the Pakistan cricket team. A rag-tag bunch of misfiring, over-hyped, under-performing players that dont deserve the attention at all.  Hell when Pakistan lost to Ireland, I was actually laughing my socks off saying 'Irish Pride' to me mates with a beaming smile on my face  The downfall of cricket had reached an unavoidable momentum in Pakistan...and I'm loving it Kevin Keegan style Hence...I have been an active football promoter back home since 2003 via www.footballpakistan.comWe cricket-haters now football-lovers in Pakistan are a small, yet growing breed. Well it hasn't completely become a drama show as of yet....but the harbhajan racial fiasco as taken it a notch higher....if the decision had gone against harbhajan i'm sure all hell would have broken lose... and ya the government should recognise hockey and football even more......but we cant help it if the government is hell-bent on supporting some over-payed, over-hyped cry babies.... |

Because you get slaughtered by him thats why! Cricket is a brilliant game, can be a bit frustrating at times, but none the less i love to watch it. I love it how everyone hates us too, just like United in the football. Must be a jealousy thing, eh? |

Ponting is just too over his tuny head.
And did you see how India got THRASHED and i mean THRASHED in the T20 against Australia. Hope this performance can bring some humility into the players, tha board and the Fans that India is nothing but a MEDIOCRE team

So much heed is being paid to these good for nothing cricketers. While the womens hockey team won the world cup and the fucking have to pay for their own tickets and traveling expenses.

In the outrage that followed all over the footballing world people have given various inflamatory responses. People from the Orient have been heard laughing "An epitome of professionalism that is Becks and Akthar ? Hahaha ". While continental Europe simply chose to ignore the outrageous comment, people from the home of football and cricket, England were bewildered and confused.
