Went to see it. Thought it was a very good film. Not as good as Batman Begins, I think it's been well over hyped because of Heat Ledgers death. And though the joker was really good, two face was just as good. It was more of an action movie where the first was more of a good film, where they showed the origins of Batman.

I'm still reeling from Jaks comment about dragging her other half to see Mamma Mia! You do relaise that there are ammendments to the human rights bill being passed through Geneva that would prevent this sort of behaviour?

joker was amazing only complaint about the film is that everything is so believable and real until two face shows up with his shitty half face.

I thought before I saw this film that all the Ledger hype was because he's dead.
Turns out not. I've seen it twice now, fantastic film. Best film I've seen at the cinema in ages.
I'd go see it again really.

I watched it the other night, and by far the best film i have seen since the LOTR Return of the King, i would like to see how they go from here with regards to a sequel to the film, i.e. close of the triology! As we know The Joker was not killed and it did not give any hints that Harvey Two Face was dead could of been just knocked out, and there is talk of Johnny Depp taking on the role of The Riddler! If they are going to reprise The Joker, i can only think of one actor who could try and surpass Heath Ledgers performance, and that's Daniel Day Lewis. Day-Lewis in this past 10 years has only took on 3 acting roles, apparently he immerses himself in the character becomes the character! That is what is needed if someone is going to fill Ledgers boots!

Gotta agree with these points. There was a lot of hype about Ledger's performance beforehand and I must admit I thought it was because he was dead. But it wasn't. Absolutely incredible performance, and one of the best I've ever seen I'd have to say.
Gotta agree with Coogie too, Daniel Day-Lewis is one of the few people who could even come close to Ledger's performance.
I've also heard that about Depp playing The Riddler, and Kevin Seymour Hoffmann playing the Penguin.

I can't see them going for the Penguin in a Chris Nolan directed Batman film! The good thing about these Batman films is that the villians are very realistic! The Joker, Two Face, Scarecrow and Ras Al Ghoul, wer all very realistic characters, the riddler could be incorporated into the real world but i can't see them going for the penguin, he's too much of a cartoon villian.

Coogie just to clear this up. Harvey Dent was dead. At the end of the film the part with commisioner Gordan talking with Dent's picture hanging up above was his funeral. They can't bring back Two Face. And Idk if they would bring back the joker. I don't think that anyone could be better than Ledger. And as far as Johnny Depp being the riddler... I can only say that I think he'd be an amazing riddler.

I can see them making the riddler work. But considering the realistic nature of the first two films how are they going to make a penguin man, and expect people to take it seriously?

It was a great film, and I really enjoyed it. But I have to say it might've dragged on a bit at points.

I never bother about length after having watched the 4 hours of Once Upon a Time in America.

It can work so long as the character's personality is beliveable. Comic book characters work when there's a back story that people can relate to in one form or another and there is a steady development of that character. In Tim Burton's version he made the character a victim of deformity so the same can be done here.
