The awards for the players are a disgrace. How Cech, Terry and Lampard won is shocking. They did lose the final didn't they? Terry is the biggest shock of all and what did Lumpard do? If Ronaldo didn't win, I would be pissed. I'm guessing Roman slipped the judges a few thousand. Terrible.
Tough group to be fair. Celtic were tough a few years ago as were Villarreal. Think we'll be ok but tougher than last years.

Should get through that without too many problems. Only game we may not be expected to win is Villareal away, unless of course players are rested in other games.

Bloody hell, Cech, Terry and Lampard?! It's just cos Johnny had a cry last season Rio and Vidic deserved it so much more than him. I'm glad Ronaldo won the forward one. It's a decent draw. Could have been better but I'm not complaining. The Celtic match will be tough, and if Villarreal played like they did last season it'll be a tough one in Spain.

Big man Couldn't care less about the awards as along as we win the big darn thing! Not the toughest of group , but the easiest either. I think we shouldn't has much problems.

I'm so fucking pissed off.
I already lost all faith in the World Player of The Year and now this…
The only way I can see Cech beating VDS is if the voting was based on reputation.
Lampard I can understand, he had a good season and is a terrific player for Chelsea.
But I can’t think of any way, any logic, that would explain Terry winning it. Rio was the best defender in the world last year, and I don’t think anyone can argue with that.
What’s funny is that we had the best defensive record and somehow Chelsea win the goalkeeper and defender awards… Not to mention the teams they had to play! Olympiakos, Fenerbache and Liverpool while we had Lyon, Roma and Barcelona.
Shame…
Fucking shame.

im still gutted and also pissed about the awards. i was wondering before how possible is that Milan players when they won only the CL won almost all the awards (we all know they shouldn't been there cos what happened in italy) but someone helped them to play the CL won it gave to Maldini an award (maybe deserved maybe not) but was more for the 20 years he spent playing football than for other reasons. that year should had been last year for paolo than decided to keep playing football. Now this year we've been the best team with best players we made the double winning the PL and the CL and they gave awards to chelsea players? Terry cried a lot(thats how he also get the captancy) Cech didn't had the best year ever and VDS last year played much better than Cech did.
Im speecless i knew UEFA and FIFA didn't liked United but i never knew they hate us so much.
Im ready to bet anything Ronaldo won't win the GB they say he's been out for solong,or if he do will be few points.

Fuck the individual awards - its a team game and its the team trophies that count and at the last count we had the two biggest ones. Let the Chavs glory in their tin pot awards - the lads can show them some real medals in response

Here's our fixture list people, an attractive opener at home to Villareal and we finish with Aalborg (is this a character from Star Trek?!) at OT. Wednesday, 17 September 2008 Villareal H Tuesday, 30 September 2008 AaB A Tuesday, 21 October 2008 Celtic H Wednesday, 5 November 2008 Celtic A Tuesday, 25 November 2008 Villareal A Wednesday, 10 December 2008 AaB H The Celtic game at OT should be a good crack; just a few days after the home game against WBA. Perhaps an opportunity to watch two United games in quick succession? The Gods are certainly not with United. Look at the Premiership games either side of our games against Villareal. Liverpool A Villareal H Chelsea A Villa A Villareal A Citeh A If that's not bad enough, we have AWAY games after every Champs League game!

I don't think that the last group game should be a problem. We should be through by that time. I think it rather helps us more than anything that the toughest games are the last ones .
Fixture list is kind for us too. Villareal at home first up, Aalborg away and Celtic at home. Get the points up on board.
The European fixture list has been absolutely wonderful, imo.

It's going to be tough but the sqaud is well set out to cope with this. I don't like the look of the Celtic and Villarreal away games in succession, that will probably be the hardest time.
