Torrres will most likely feature but I doubt Gerrard will. Fuck 'em. They did absolutely nothing against us last season. Any news on any of our players that are injured?

We shouldn't really concern ourselves with who will be playing for Liverpool; it is our own team and tactics that count.
Remember the impact of Gerrard and Torres last season?! The words absent, back pocket, and double spring to mind!
As this is a Saturday morning kick-off, the freshness of the players returning from International duty will have an impact on the team selected. I would expect to see Berbatov start; if it's up front with Rooney and/or Tevez remains to be seen.
No update on the availability of Giggs, Carrick, or Hargo yet though. Presently, I would expect to see Scholes, Anderson, Park, and Fletcher feature in midfield. The defence picks itself unless players are injured on International duty.
Quite looking forward to this game. However, I'm not certain that I'll actually watch it! Old age, nerves, and all that!!

VDS
Brown - Ferdonand - Vidic - Evra
Flecther - Scholes - Anderson
Tevez - Berbatov - Rooney I see us lining up something like that. I think if you include Nani it would cost us in midfield. It's gonna be interesting I can't wait. What a day to make your debut. I'll go for a 1:2 to UTD Bertatov and Park from the bench with the goals. Yep. I'd go with that team and formation. Fletcher definitely deserves to start and as it is against Liverpool, also Berba's debut, I think Fergie will try the three of them together as soon as poss. I'm confident of a clean sheet. 2:0. Fletcher to continue his goalscoring form and Berbatov to seal the victory with 5 minutes to go. #unitedbanner#

More comedy genius from Planet Scouse:
Alvaro Arbeloa echoed his manager's views, telling the club's website: "Fernando and Stevie are really important for us and they are probably our best players. But we have a really good squad and know we have other really good players too. We can still beat Manchester United without Fernando and Stevie.
"It will be a hard game for us, but it will also be tough for them. Their defenders have to play against players like Yossi Benayoun, Dirk Kuyt and Robbie Keane."
Benayoun and Kuyt. You couldn't make this stuff up.

When Carraghar sees Rooney, Tevez and Berbatov running towards him, he will surely piss his pants.

I was watching a game on Setanta a few weeks ago and Steve Mcmananamanamanaman reckons Liverpool have got the best squad in the premiership. How someone can say that with a straight face I'll never know. Even Liverpool fans I know would never say that they've got a better squad than us or Chelsea. Only scousers could spout such shite.

Van Der Sar Brown - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra
Tevez - Anderson - Scholes - Giggs
Rooney - Berbatov I'd play that with Tevez acting as a fourth midfielder in defence, he has the energy to do it and third attacker in attack. Although I think Fletcher will start with maybe Berbatov and Rooney up front. We should win this game, regardless of Torres or Gerrard starting, I'm going for a 2 - 0 United with Rooney and Anderson (goal must be coming) on the scoresheet.

You couldn't make this stuff up. Hmm...interesting logic being that they weren't able to beat us with them. Benayoun, Kuyt and Robbie Keane....decent players but I'm not exactly trembling in my boots at facing them. Facing Rooney, Berbatov and Tevez would make me a little nervous not Team Mediocre.

I can't wait for the league to resume. The international matches were such a bore. It's great to see that most of us here are confident of beating 'Pool. I just hope we don't get over confident and perform like we did against Zenit. Everyone thought the Super Cup was already in the bag.
