They were. Along with a number of other leading clubs. Was another reason United tied him down to a bumper new contract after the Hull game. Absolute nonsense there is no way the likes of Barcelona would want him lol My God you're annoying.

He's watched his development closely over the years, from U18s to Reserves. I'd say he's seen him at least, oh, 3 times so obviously knows what he's talking about.

I get the feeling with Wilson that he'll just reach the 'Welbeck' level at United. Just that level below what's required. Hope I'm proved wrong though. I think Wilson is already better than Welbeck. He might not be as fast, although he is fast, but Wilson is a finisher where Welbeck is a bottler.

Actually looks like he came on for Karim at 74'. 04/09/2015 22:30, Report by Adam Bostock MARTIAL MAKES A WINNING DEBUT FOR FRANCE Manchester United's newest signing Anthony Martial capped a pivotal week by making his senior debut for France on Friday night - just three days after joining the Reds from AS Monaco.
Initially on the bench for the friendly match in Portugal, the 19-year-old striker replaced Real Madrid's Karim Benzema in the 74th minute, and was therefore on the pitch when fellow substitute Mathieu Valbuena broke the deadlock five minutes from full-time. Valbuena's solitary, decisive strike was a brilliant free-kick that former United players Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani would have been proud of - both of them started for the hosts in Lisbon, while their ex-team-mate Patrice Evra lined up in Didier Deschamps' French defence. Another of United's summer acquisitions, Morgan Schneiderlin, was also among the subs but he entered the fray as a half-time replacement for Crystal Palace's in-form midfielder Yohan Cabaye. Schneiderlin's midfield partner in the Reds' last outing at Swansea - Bastian Schweinsteiger - made his expected appearance for Germany as they beat Poland 3-1 to go top of Group D in the Euro 2016 qualifying tournament. The scoresheet was notable for the fact that all four goals were scored by players at Schweinsteiger's old club, Bayern Munich. Thomas Muller and Mario Gotze both netted for the world champions inside the first 20 minutes before their domestic colleague Robert Lewandowski pulled one back for the Poles prior to the interval. Gotze eventually sealed Germany's win in the 82nd minute, pouncing on an opportunity after the Poland and Swansea goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski saved Muller's initial shot. United's Paddy McNair is also on course to qualify for next summer's European Championships, after helping Northern Ireland to reach the summit of Group D. The versatile defender came on in the latter stages as his national team won 3-1 away to Faroe Islands, while his former team-mate Jonny Evans made his first, full appearance since leaving Old Trafford last weekend. Evans' centre-back partner and new team-mate at West Brom, Gareth McAuley, was named man of the match after scoring a header in each half. www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Football-News/2015/Sep/anthony-martial-makes-france-debut-as-schneiderlin-schweinsteiger-mcnair-also-win-internationals.aspx

I'd say he's seen him at least, oh, 3 times so obviously knows what he's talking about. I don't rate him? Another Welbeck imo. Hope he proves me wrong though. And what are you basing this on? The 14 games he's played for the first team, most of them as a sub? That's enough to judge a 19 year old is it? Don't bother mentioning Ronaldo, Rooney or even Martial at 19, they are exceptions. Different development rates for players. Actually why am I even bothering with this? Shouldn't have to try to convince a Utd fan on Wilson. We hear all the time that 'Utd is based on promoting youth' and then you get this kind of bollocks. Drives me mad.

In fairness to Rooney he came out yesterday and said that Sir Bobby is a legend, a hero and that his acheivements for England will never equal it unless he wins a major trophy.
Anyways Congrats to Rooney still a great moment for him personally I imagine.
