We should have won here tbh. Villareal were poor and never posed a threat. We gave the ball away quite cheaply and another thing that frustrated me is that players try outr flicks and give the ball where a simple pass would have done the trick.
Anyways , a very good result We missed Berbatov there. Rooney looked lively tbh. Anderson was good , he is never going to score though , but he played really well. Fletcher was great was well. For me Carrick was the MOM , brilliant player .
Today it was just piss taking for Tevez. He should have come on way ahead instead he sees Gibson and Park go on ahead of him.

Boring game. We played the best football but no great chances to score but we got the result to take us through which is what it comes down to and we should top the group. While we did play the best football, we were not great. People are having a sing and dance about Fletcher but I thought he was shoddy last night with passes going astray but he wasn't the worst on the pitch. O'Shea was very poor and he has started the last 2 at right back. Why? Put Rafeal there. Nani started well, but didn't seem to get any support and eventually faded away. Rio seemed rather shaky and I wasn't confident in him. Ronaldo played quite well despite being targetted by Villarreal but he really does need to stop throwing a fit at everything (e.g his booking) but it was a nasty challenge on him for the red. Best player for us was Michael Carrick followed by Johnny Evans who I thought played well. I would have put Rooney up there but his dives we a let down and totally uncalled for. Anderson was ok, but also quite sloppy at times. Evra was solid.
Not the best performance but fuck it. We are through and got the job done. Now onto City.

It amazes me that in 4 games against them neither side has scored. Cracking save from the keeper from Ronaldo in the first half. They had a bit of luck, but we were the only side that looked like scoring. Hopefully beat Aalborg at home now & take the group.
Nice bruise on Ronaldos leg after that red card challenge, bet hes a little tender this morning!!

The result we needed even if it was a generally poor performance against a shit team. We can play so carelessly when in possession of the ball and yet never look threatened away from home! And to think that they are supposed to be one of Spain's best teams! Reaffirmed my view that Spanish football = bag of spunk. Villarreal were in the exact same position we are in so they didn't need to play to much either. Especially with Celtic being hopeless. No idea how you think they're a shit team. They weren't in the same position though were they? They had the opportunity to finish first in the group instead of second and thus get a likely better draw. They were playing at home having rested players at the weekend for that game. Yet they played with 9 men behind the ball and were happy to hold on. Any team that conceded 5 goals in two games against a Danish team struggling domestically cannot possibly be described as anything but shit relative to genuinely quality teams. I must be one of the few that doesn't buy into the Spanish league sycophancy. Reality is that it is a piss poor league where premiership rejects excel. Embarrassing listening to the English commentators’ on Sky Sports during a game when they are competing with reality show judges in abusing the superlative describing what they are seeing. No doubt compensating for the shit they and the viewer are watching.

We were the better team which made it frustrating that we couldn't get the win to prove that conclusively. I was hoping for the win here to improve morale and minimize the importance of the match against Aalborg. I don't expect Aalborg to be a problem at OT, but the more players we could have rested for that match would have given some of the squad players a run-out as well and taken the pressure off.

2nd goalless draw. I wonder what's going on. We played decent enough and still found it hard to score.
Cant wait for us to redeem ourselves and beat Citeh.

Chris, Fletcher had the most successful passing completion rate of any ot the front 6 players last night. Carrick gave the ball away more times than Fletcher.
