Michael Ballack's son has tragically passed away in a quad crash, according to Portuguese media.
No parent should ever have to bury their child. EVER. RIP Emilio Ballack.

Just watching a rerun of CL against AC Milan when Becks played. Has there been a better crosser of the ball? Incredible baller. Fuck me we have been blessed with some amazing players.

I know it’s stating the bleeding obvious, but this fucked up weather we’re experiencing everywhere, including floods in Miami, horrendous wildfires in Turkey ,Greece, Australia and USA (again) makes me wonder how things will be in 50 years’ time, it won’t bother me per se, as I’ll have dropped off the twig, but my son and his family will (hopefully) still be knocking about!

We are driving head first into a concrete wall and the sad thing is we know it and refuse to do anything about it. I really don't give us much hope mate. Humans unfortunately need to stare death in the face before we wise up.

Here’s the report from IPCC re climate change. Unequivocal really, despite some certain politicians, currently in and out of power, denying same. I’m definitely going to go full-electric when I order my car in September! Climate change: IPCC report is 'code red for humanity’. www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-58130705

Humans unfortunately need to stare death in the face before we wise up. It's too late already. Gen Z will see the end begin and Gen Alpha is fucked. I have no doubt in my mind we're too late. It's like a derailed train - the time to slow down was before we got off the track and I think we've just started to come off the rails.

I agree, let's look at reality of the situation. 3% annual growth targets means the economy and our resource consumption doubles every 30 years. Capitalism cannot possibly reduce our consumption if the whole thing is predicted on infinite growth. My biggest fear is future generations will be forced to make horrendous choices just to ensure our species can survive. I'm not optimistic and I don't believe Tesla is gonna save the fucking world.

Let me tell you of the biggest fucking irony in the world - the Middle East. They produce so much fossil fuel because it's what they know how to do, and because of how much they've invested in it and because of the petrodollar and because of sheer cowardice. This place gets enough sunlight to power electricity for the entire Middle East for the whole year comfortably. Yet they use negligible amounts of solar energy to meet requirements. It's a travesty. Political powers, hand in glove with rotten corporates have wrecked this planet.

The problem with solar or any renewable energy source, is we don't have the battery technology to provide energy 24/7 to cater for major industry and domestic use. I pass wind farms in this country coming home and most are inactive during the day, the batteries cannot do the job. We have all but abandoned real investment in nuclear energy despite its obvious pros. We can even build reactors that don't melt down and we are still chucking everything at renewables. Electric cars will not save us yet this government are never done talking about them.

Political powers, hand in glove with rotten corporates have wrecked this planet. Yep, they could have (literally) 1000’s of hectares of desert given over to solar farms that would generate huge amounts of electricity, as they already have enormous desalination plants to take care of their water needs it wouldn’t be an issue. i watched a documentary a while ago which had contributions by (sensible) climate scientists as to how long it would take the world to reset, can’t remember the general answers, but it wasn’t good. See that a hydrogen powered aircraft is now in design phase at Airbus which looks interesting, www.airbus.com/innovation/zero-emission/hydrogen/zeroe.html#hydrogenalthough it’s annoying that this technology hasn’t been exploited earlier, Honda had a hydrogen-powered car via their Clarity variant in the US and in some parts of Europe in the early 2000’s. i saw it ((favourably) reviewed on Top Gear in the UK from So-Cal

Just read that antivaxxers stormed a building thinking it was the BBC HQ only to realize they moved out a decade earlier.
This shit just writes itself.

So, according to Twitter the majority of racists tweets sent to players during the Euro’s originated from UK accounts, also 99% of them were not anonymous. What the actual fuck is going on with these twats?
