This government's behaviour in this junior doctor thing is really stupid.

I've been listening to a podcast about the post office scandal. Also watched the drama in TV too. It's absolutely heartbreaking what has happened to these hard working, honest, good people. Many of which would have been the pillars of small villages and towns up and down the country. The effects of that bloody computer program and the frauds who were running it makes my blood boil. The post office is supposed to be one of the very foundations of this country. I hope whoever is behind this, rots in jail, then burns in hell for the lives they have destroyed. Heads must roll.

It must be awful sitting in jail for a crime you know you didn't commit. The government needs to get their act together and fix this ASAP. Fujitsu should definitely be in court and facing a huge lawsuit.

Anyone done the north coast 500 up in Scotland? Planning a trip in May. Recommendations welcome!! We are starting at Inverness and going anti clockwise towards Fort William. Can't wait, it's such a beautiful part of the world.

Hey Lads, A personal request here: Some of you will have known behind the scenes, but my (our) baby boy was diagnosed with high-risk, stage 4 neuroblastoma (cancer) in December last year at 6.5 months of age. It's our first child, so you can imagine the journey this has been since then. Anyway, the trauma has somewhat given way but the reality is that he'll need almost a year's worth of treatment. We're anticipating some serious financial impacts when our health insurance finally runs out - immunotherapy, in particular, is incredibly expensive. Close friends have been helpful enough to create this fundraising campign in an effort to gather funds to continue Oliver's treatment. If you feel inclined to help, or if you have a network to share with, please do. www.backabuddy.co.za/champion/project/oliver-van-zyl-5817260239411001731Thanks in advance for any share, contribution or even just a positive thought or prayer sent Oliver's way.

You’ve been dealt a real shit show brother. Good luck to you all. Dig deep if you can people. It took about a week to go through all the five stages of grief; like sitting through a car crash that is happening in ultra slow motion over days and months. Couldn't quite process that we pulled the shortest straw (odds-wise) out of 300,000 and that this should happen to our first child. A positive is that he has responded to early chemo, we're pretty sure if they had started treatment a week later there would not have been a baby left to save. Appreciate the kind words.

I fucking hate this disease so much. I spent all of 2020-2021 watching my wife go through it and not being able to be with her because of the fucking pandemic and the lack of flights. I don't pray, my wife does, and we will both say a prayer for y'all and contribute. I'll also pass this along through to whomever I know and hopefully they will be supportive as well. Try to stay positive and hopeful - not just for you. It is fucking hard but please try.

Shit man, this really hits the feels. He is such a happy baby as well. What an amazing picture of you both. I've just given a little something. I've had a couple of shit weeks wage wise, but I will bookmark that page and chuck a few more quid in in a couple of weeks when I get back on my feet. Be strong brother and you've always got a family on here you can chat with if things are getting on top. Let's get this young man some dollars!!

It’s unique that you can feel a sense of community with someone across the world, whom you seemingly know, without even knowing what they look like. But seeing a picture with you and your son brought me tears. Things like this are the only things I pray for anymore, Oliver is a beautiful name and may he have success in his battle.
It seems that many members have had things happen, and have gone quiet or stepped away, and we unfortunately never hear from them again. But seemingly, this place is a strong community. In 2013 Traffordbrown, helped me set up tickets to my first OT trip v Reading, one of Fergies last hurrahs. The week of the trip, my father passed away. I was 22. Traff was so kind and took care of canceling everything for me. A few weeks later Bestie sent me a match programme. I still haven’t been to OT, but the kindness surrounding that week I found here from those two I will take to the grave with me. Just the fact that I tried making the pilgrimage is somehow comforting.
Hoping for the best for young Oliver.
