For fucks sake we lose one game and the doom and gloom starts. We were shite no doubt but for fucks sake its one game. i dont think people really care about losing to derby in the c.c it is the m.m cup after all but its just the fact that we're not playing at our best and its getting kind of worrying. we got some big games coming up and we better buck our ideas up i know but its not like the rest of the big four have been brilliant this season. we'll lose football games this season, people should get over it

I dnt think its over reacting man, apart from Stoke, Hull, Aalborg, Pompey, we have been piss poor this season! Tonight is the cherry ontop of the cake! Sad but brutally true!! Even if i think really hard i can't remember of one game this season in which we dominated like last year and we were fully on top of things. This game just ruined my week Blackburn away I thought we dominated 1st to 90th minute but other than that, yes, we have been very poor away from home this season, don't know what's wrong. Still 100% confident of progressing to the final though, if we can't beat Derby at OT by 2 goals we deserve to get knocked out!

from manutd.com
The margin of defeat was one of the scarce positives for Sir Alex Ferguson following United's Carling Cup reverse at Derby County.
The Reds boss believes his side could have been staring at a mountain, rather than a molehill, of a task for the second leg of the semi-final after seeing the Rams take only one of several chances at Pride Park.
"The positive is we've only lost 1-0," reflected Sir Alex.
"It's a fantastic result for us considering the performance. We could have lost four goals so 1-0 is a fantastic result for us and going to Old Trafford now, it'll be different."
The team won't be too different for the second leg, however - Sir Alex feels his young players can still take the Reds to Wembley after helping to see off Middlesbrough, QPR and Blackburn at home in previous rounds.
"I think we'll persevere with our younger players," Sir Alex confirmed.
"They deserve to be in there, I felt they were our better players tonight in actual fact. Gibson certainly was one of the better players.
"I have sympathy for Welbeck - he never really had any service in the game so it would be unfair to judge him."

i thought gibson was shocking, couldnt hold on to the ball what so ever and only delivered 1 decent cross all night - same goes for nani, nearly every corner and free kick didnt even beat the first man

how the fuck can Fergie take any positives from that game? Whats going on there, last season he was pissed when we were winning games 2-0 and not winning 5-0.
Baffles me. Then again, it's not like he doesnt know what hes doing.

today i cant really blame any forwards. they had no service at all.
the biggest disapointment for me was anderson. his passing was shocking and there wasnt that usual go forward.
nani was back to his recent days.
gibson played all right but nothing special.
scholes wasnt scholes today.
not a good performance by far, probably the worst of the season, but at least we can make up for it against chelski and in the second leg.

That hurt to watch especially against Derby. I couldn't watch the entire match but what I did see was pretty appalling.

We were pretty much shit. and our mid-field was appealing , it was on 75th minute when Carrick came on that we got a proper shot on goal. The mid-field has been bothering for quite a while now , and I've no doubt Chelsea's mid-field would steam roll ours!
We missed Berbatov , someone who can hold the ball up and his dropping back is actually quite good , he was been far better than our mid-fielders.
It was a disgrace , we were so boring and uneventful that I had trouble staying awake. Glad that it was just a useless Carling Cup game and we have a return leg as well.

playing gibson on the wing has highlighted the importance of buying tosic imo. the players were way off lastnight and really that game and the tie should have been wrapped up, lets hope for alot better this weekend and i mean a win draw is no good

I went last night, and it was as bad in the flesh as it was watching on TV I imagine.....Although on telly you didnt get the piss ripped out of you by the Derby fans The United support last night, was one of the quietest I have heard from the away end....However the quality of our performance may have something to do with that. I dont want to be a doom & gloom merchant, because I dont think there is the need. We will be a different side on Sunday....However there is a few things that concern me. Firstly, and I have said it time & time again on here, The pole in the goal, aka, the pig. I just do not rate him. Before Derby scored he had dropped a couple of crosses, 1 was given as a foul which IMO was dubious. He doesnt command his box, comes for things and misses them. If it wasnt for Vida we would have been 2 down before they even scored. I admit, there was not alot he could have done with the goal, but in the second half he parried a shot straight to the feet of there striker (Hulse I think) who luckily put it over. He just isnt good enough for us....Im sure he is fine in a team like West Brom, but however for me he doesnt fit the bill as a United keeper. With Foster overlooked again, not even on the bench, he must be watching his dodgy performances & thinking what the hell do I have to do here? Secondly, and can I just say im not slating him. I thought Evans was shakey for the 2nd time in a week. Thought he was the same at Southampton. Passing was astray a few times, and they managed to get in behind him a couple of times....However i am not slating him it is all part of the learning process & will be a better player for it. Thirdly, Using Gibson as a right winger. He quite simply isnt. There are so many players we could have played there last night, Park, Nani (With Ando on the left), Tosic, even Fletch, I cant see why he keeps playing there. The lad is so much better in the centre of the park, his natural position. Also thought Ando was very poor....Enough said. Positivie to take from the game was the performance of Vida. Thought he was immense and lead the back line and team well. I was also impressed by the leadership of Rooney when he came on, trying to gee the lads up, having words in peoples ear, commanding people. Definitely a future captain. Anyway lads, its not all doom and gloom we will be a totally different side on Sunday, and going into the Old Trafford game 1-0 down is a plus, as we must still be fave's to go through.

going into the Old Trafford game 1-0 down is a plus, as we must still be fave's to go through. How so??? Seeing how poor we've been lately and the lack of goals, Derby will park the bus and now we've got to score twice before they even think of getting off. I understand the theory that we're the world champions and they're struggling to avoid the drop into leage one and should wipe the floor with them...but on last nights performance...yikes...!! This United team has me confused right now.
