TBH, I didn't fancy AJ whilst watching the walk in. Too much smiling etc. The focus wasn't there. Almost like the job was done. Can’t remember which round it was, but Usyk had stunned him with a left during it and AJ’s body language at the end of the round was very similar to the night in New York when it was all going wrong against that human biscuit tin. Nobody likes getting hit, but AJ has traditionally responded very poorly to being dragged into deep water. With his previous loss, you could see how it would be avenged simply with better movement, fighting at range and using the jab. His technical skills were better than those of Ruiz. But with Usyk, he won’t be able to do that as he is clearly miles behind him technically. The only way might be to try to overwhelm him with power, which is risky as it’s just as likely to get him battered by the more fluid puncher. You could see the fight was going wrong when half way through, the incredibly bias commentary team decided it was all of a sudden a massive advantage to be the lighter man. 3rd round I think is when he caught him. On the side of the neck, seemed to have rattled him. Could see them rubbing it down inbetween most rounds afterwards, even after the last bell went.

He smirked at the end of the round and I can remember him doing the exact same thing against Ruiz when he knew he was in bother.

Is AJs defeat really a shock? Everyone said Usyk could box, so why is it so surprising he got beat? AJs performance was embarrassing, this defeat is much worse than the Ruiz defeat in my opinion. Usyks performance is reassuring because despite his obvious physical disadvantage, a solid boxer can still overcome a bigger man. AJ should try to make the wilder fight happen because a fight between two power fighters is gonna be more interesting than watching AJ fumble about in the ring with Fury.

Only an idiot would dismiss Usyk. Its more the fact he offered nothing. He seemed slower than normal aswell. He's capable of better things, that was the frustrating part. But Usyk was very impressive. On last nights performance he'd give Fury a run aswell.

I bet fury is hoping for that big pay day with Joshua now, easy nights money for him.

That's what I couldn't get with AJ. He must have known as the fight went on longer it would have favoured the leaner fighter. Poor game plan. Brilliant from Usyk though, very impressive.

AJ gets tired at the midpoint of every fight though. Maybe there’s only so much any athlete can do to improve their cardio before it’s pointless and some will just naturally be better than others. Look at Conor McGregor. Hard to imagine a better physical specimen at that height and weight. Clearly trains very hard etc. But his tank always runs out at the midway stage of a fight. Fury on the other hand can seemingly go all night and he’s anything but lean. I’m sure plenty of people on here know more than me about how all of that works, but I don’t think AJ is ever going to have that kind of tank.

That's why I'm surprised AJ didn't go for it towards the mid way mark. Even Fury said the same to beat Usyk he should have used his size and power but he played into Usyk's hands.

AJ is built like a Greek god, people built like that always struggle with endurance even with the right conditioning training. Like you say, he fought the wrong fight. I’m sure Usyk trained and to keep the pace high and tire AJ out.

Any man on the street knows this.

Not hugely surprised by the result but very disappointed...
As someone said I was worried as soon as I saw the ring walk...
It was like he had already won...no focus and a shit game plan...

What’s everyone thinking for the fight tonight?
Fury clearly the better boxer, but Wilder obviously still extremely dangerous. Especially if complacency has set in. Not that Fury ever looks “good”, but I’m wondering how hard he’s actually trained for this. Didn’t look as good at the weigh-in as he did in the other two fights.

Just dislike Wilder more. Think this one will be closer than people think. I'd like Fury to win but something tells me Wilder will have him in this. Although I'd like to be wrong.
