Manchester United have completed the signing of French starlet Paul Pogba, much to Le Havre's dismay.

Never heard of him. According to Wikipedia he's 16 and plays as a defensive midfielder in the French U-16's side, which he's also the captain of and has 17 appearances and 1 goal.
Interesting. Trumped Arsenal to his signature apparently.

He's really well rated around Europe. One of the top players in his age group, but I've not seen anything of him.

Le Havre hit out at Man United over Pogba signingManchester United have completed the signing of French starlet Paul Pogba, although his club Le Havre have hit out at the Premier League champions for their behaviour. The Red Devils' transfer policy has caused uproar with his former employers and the French side have called on the football authorities to act in order to prevent similar situations arising in the future. "Le Havre want to express their indignation at the actions of Manchester United officials and their pursuit of Paul Pogba," read a statement on the club's official website. "Paul Pogba, his parents and Le Havre were bound to a contract called a 'non-solicitation agreement' from autumn 2006. "At the end of that contract, the three parties agreed to sign a trainee contract when the player matched certain age and scholarship criteria, taking him through to the end of the 2009/10 season. "However, the player and his parents have refused to fulfil the agreement because Manchester United have offered big money to the parents to get their son to England. "While a lot of voices have started to be heard coming out of the EU, governments, Fifa and Uefa against 'minor slave trade', Manchester United have not hesitated to uproot a 16-year-old kid." ------ Minor Slave Trade? wtf?!!

Just another club bitter that they couldn't hang onto their young prospects, so they spout loads of bullshit in the press, but if they had the opportunity to do the same then they would. Actually to be fair it must be bloody frustrating for them, the laws are rather ridiculous where it enables big clubs like Utd to go round signing up 16/17 year olds with impunity, but as it stands the law enables us to do that so whilst it might piss off a few clubs, we should take advantage of it and we are.

le harve can't match our facilities and the kid knows training with top plaers week in week out will improve him, I feel slightly sorry for le harve because I wouldn't like it if we lost talented youngsters to some loop hole in the ages between professional contracts. I don't know the player but considering the wealth of talented youngsters we possess he must be decent. We are recruiting alot of youngsters in the last 2 seasons, I think fergie is trying to leave the club with a mass of young talent for the next manager.

It is not just that. It pisses me off to hear such crap coming from the mouthes of Platini and Blatter!!!!! Wenger is well-known for taking young players from Africa but nothing is said because of the francophone connection but, when it comes to a team that knows real success like Manchester United, they really want to stick the knife in. We need to get a new euro chappie!!!! Preferably an English one.

Whenever this slave talk comes up I always say - I wouldn't mind being a slave on fifty-thousand quid a week or something ridiculous like that.
