He must have known Fletch was going to be taking a break long before it was announced, so maybe thats why he has held Pogba back and not exposed him sooner, to save him for when he absolutly needed to play him.
Wonder if it will be enough to convince him to lower his demands and stay?

If an agent can turn a seasoned professionals' head in Wayne Rooney. This guy has no chance.

i'd say fergusons comments suggest there is no problem with pogba at all. conspicuous by his absence from the wizards name-dropping is rav morrison, i can think of half a dozen ways to read into that so make of it what u will.

I found it hard to continue once he declared Gibson as an option.

I found it hard to continue once he declared Gibson as an option. It's alright, Gibson got injured in the reserves game against Liverpool the other night.

By the way Fergies clarified somewhat about Pogba, seems like the agent is trying to play hardball a bit. But the papers still have it wrong, technically. His contract does run till 2012 but has the option for the club to extend it by 12 months, so it may as well be till 2013. Seems daft by the agent, there no point trying to piss us off for a few thousand now, because if he becomes good enough it'll mean nothing later on. I've said since summer he'll probably be around the first team by 2012 and with Fletcher out, its probably quite accurate. Nothing to get worked up about now though.

Sir Alex Ferguson is hopeful Paul Pogba will sign a new deal with the club after earmarking the young starlet as a potential midfield option for the remainder of the season.
The 18-year-old was part of the Youth Cup-winning side last season and made his first-team debut in the Carling Cup win at Leeds back in September.
The United manager says the club are in discussions with Pogba's representatives about a new contract and remains optimistic he will sign.
"We are negotiating with his agent and we want the boy to stay," he told reporters on Friday. "If he doesn’t want to there is not a lot you can do about it.
"We have an option on his contract which takes us into a year and a half away so in that respect there is not a great emergency. But we would like him to sign a new contract and if he wants to be a Manchester United player he knows what to do."
Sir Alex remains hopeful the French teenager will stay and insists he is at the perfect club to learn his trade and continue his progression.
"You hope he gets the right advice," added the boss. "All young players who remain here always do well particularly the ones with talent.
"It is down to the individual also. Matt Busby summed it up perfectly when he said you don't need to chase money at a club like Manchester United. He said it will eventually find you if you are a good enough player you will earn money. You become rich playing for Manchester United.

The last thing we need is to lose (another) an apparent up and coming star. Not with the wet lettuce brigade we currently call our midfield. Certain players being exempt of course. Is a pairing of Cleverley and Pogba too much to ask? Probably. Fucking agents.

That Fergie interview is interesting because he mentions Pogba and Tunni as players that can help in midfield but he doesn't mention Morrison. He could be out as well as Pogba.

Molde manager and former Manchester United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Football Focus : "I had a great grounding in Manchester. If I hadn't learnt from Sir Alex Ferguson, I wouldn't learn from anyone. I think it's good taking it step by step and this is the first step. I never had massive ambitions as a manager. I'm going to go along and see if I enjoy it and do well. And if I do, better jobs will come."

Pogba is getting pretty stupid advice from his agent. It's well documented that we have a glaring hole in the middle of the park. He has a better chance of becoming the central midfielder at Utd than any other elite European side IMO. If he joins either Milan side he;ll go straight out on loan for a year before he even gets a sniff of a shot. City, Bayern, Barca, Real, he won't get near their central midfield for years. As Fergie said, if he does well for Utd then the big money will follow a la Hernandez. And despite our lack of patience at times, who knows when to blood a player better than Fergie? He'd do well to stay where he is.

I am the only one who saw 'in contention for QPR' and thought "On the bench, getting on for the last 15 minutes."? Or am I being defeatist?
