From the F365 mailbox : Factor in amortisation of di Maria's contract, and his obvious desire to leave, and United are probably doing about as well as anybody who isn't Daniel Levy could hope to do out of his sale. SET...that you? Nope But they are right.

The Bosman rule seems fair as hell to me. It does swing the power the players way so perhaps they could put in a clause that instead of leaving for free they leave for a much smaller fee. Take a bit of that player power. He was fined two weeks wages I think for missing the tour. As for the point about us not being his first choice, that happens & we desperately needed players. We should definitely go back to Ferguson's type of signing though. Instead of buying Mercs we need to buy players who will give everything. As a lawyer, the Bosman rule is one of the absolute worst legal precedents ever set down by any court, in any jurisdiction. Seriously. It gives virtually no protection to one party and all the power to another. This thing of 'well a player shouldn't be tied in for five years' - they sign the contracts. They don't want to be tied in for that length of time, negotiate better. But the thing is - only now with the Bosman rule they can negotiate better. Before that they could not leave a club even after their contract ended, which is frankly ridiculous.

has the poor lamb worked up enough energy to do a medical yet? Can this be over soon? He is trying to ensure that his new home is burglary proof. God forbid, what would happen if his new home gets robbed? New club then?

I am extraordinarily angry about some of the things I have read about Angel Di Maria in the last 24 hrs. If all true, what a piece of work. Fuming.
