You are allowed to have an opinion, I'd like to think that it would be based on something more tangible than just one match though, not really enough evidence to suggest trading Obertan, Tosic and shit loads of money and saying he's the perfect replacement for Giggs. And just because he's been hyped up doesn't mean he'd be any good for us, I remember a certain Freddy Adu being billed as the next big thing. And the Football Manager comment is a cliche, but most cliches are cliches for a reason, there are elements of truth in them. There are a handful of footballers that either have good stats on these games, or have a brilliant YouTube video, and this leads to hype. Dude, both you and I agree he is a talent, so why the silly argument? Another thing, all our squad judged Cristiano Ronaldo's talents on the basis of ONE SINGLE pre-season game. Sometimes that is all it takes to judge a player of genuine quality. And if any of us could be as good (even)on YouTube videos as the guy in question, we wouldn't be sat on our arses arguing on an internet forum! Finally - Everton signed a deal with Football Manager to use their database to scout players some 2-3 years ago. Admitted the could get the occasional stat wrong, but more often than not they are very accurate! They never even rated Freddy Adu highly (at least not since 2007)

This thread is about Di Maria so naturally people are going to give there opinion on him, I don't know what your problem is lol. I think Di Maria would be an excellent signing, I have seen him play on several occasions and he looks terrific, he had a great game for Argentina a few weeks ago aswell. Do you expect us to find a player in our price range who is proven at every level and is going to be a guaranteed success, because it is not going to happen unless there names are Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo lol. What's side-splittingly funny about people other than you giving their opinion? ....oh, but you've seen him play, so Di Maria is automatically one of the world's most fantastically, excellent, brilliant players.....Sir Alex Ferguson and the rest of us on this forum are just clueless... ....and of course you know what our price range is, so now you're dictating our transfer policy..... Where's the evidence Di Maria is going to be a success anywhere??

I think Di Maria would be a great signing, the only thing that would put me off is his price tag, if we could get him for around £18m I'd take him. Some people will consider that expensive but they have to realise the whole market is inflated, if Ronaldo is worth £80m and Ribery £60m then you can't expect to pay £8m for players who could potentially be world class in the future.

Di Maria did very little tonight, he is very talented but he wouldn't be a guaranteed success. The 30 million + that Benfica are expecting is ridiculous, he has not achieved enough for that kind of price tag. I would take him for 18-20 million. Anymore than that and I could understand if Fergie says no and looks elsewhere.

Hes a good player but when I pay money for someone I prefer to see them kick the ball than decide he needs a lie down evertime he gets touched. Seriously hes one of the worse divers I've seen!

Whoever Benfica sell Di MAria which is obvious this summer , its gonna be way below the 30mil tag , I hope we can bag him .. but I think SAF wants a solid creative midfielder as a priority with a decent striker (Chichrito ... probably for the future ) ... In SAF we trust ..

Lol I would ask why the sudden change of position but all i'll get back is "Why do you keep going on about what people said in the past etc etc etc" So instead ill just laugh.

Read somewhere today that his move to Real is almost finalized. Another promising career. Ruined. RIP We'll see, Real just confirmed that Pellegrini has been sacked and that Mourinho will most likely take over. That could bring some stability to that club, which is a frightening prospect with the squad they have, and the players they are likely to add this summer. Although a club which sacks their coach after reaching 96 points and scoring 102 goals in the league maybe isn't likely to ever reach any kind of stability......
