Lets face it, he is an incredible player. La Liga isn't weak as people say, it's that both Barca and Real have become monsters and I believe they would be on top of any league, period. Funny that some say La liga is weak defensively. And proof of that is Ronaldo's amazing tally? Well by that logic the EPL is also krap defensively if he scored 42 right? The point is that when it comes to him, he is extremely superior to any defense. He showed it in England and now in Spain. A league shouldnt be judged on 2 teams but how close the rest of the 18 are to each other. Both Real and Barca are light years from just about any team in the world and will only get better especially when you see the young talent at Real and barca, to a lesser degree. And why is it that Ronaldo never gets credit for becoming the player he is? MUFC make it seem as if they created him. It's bollocks. CR was always gonna become what he is because he has the God given talent and more importantntly, he works very hard, is a perfectionist. No one trains harder, no one arrives earleier to training or leaves later than him. He doesnt party during the season and doesnt drink and its obvious. Credit also has to be given not just to him but to Sporting as well. Lets not pat ourselves in the back so quickly. Lastly, the world doesnt revolve around Manchester United. To you guys yes, but not to Ronaldo. He left at the perfect time. He won everything with you and gave you more than what was even expected. Be grateful. I would choose Madrid over Manchester anyday, it's a no brainer. More power to him. Some of you lot need to come down to reality and stop the bitterness. He left you and that's that. Get over it!

Oh, Ive been reading these threads for a while now and damn! You guys are theeeee most bitter lot I've ever seen! Are you guys that insecure? Every other thread is: "Oh this bloke didnt choose us, fook him" and, "What skum", etc., etc. I feel sorry for the mods here that need to clean up this mess or for the few decent folk here. My God, get a grip and get over yourselves. You're the biggest thing in Manchester but c'mon, the world is much bigger. You're just another club. And what huge player in their right mind would wanna go play in your dumpy gloomy city anyway? You're nothing more than a stepping stone, and you know it, and that's what hurts. Know your place!

Lets face it, he is an incredible player. La Liga isn't weak as people say, it's that both Barca and Real have become monsters and I believe they would be on top of any league, period. La liga is ridiculously weak. It has two incredible teams, two reasonably good teams in Valencia, and Sevilla, one team which has the potential to be very good, but consistently underperforms, in Atletico Madrid, and one average team, in Villarreal. The rest are very poor, none of them, except possibly Atletic Bilbao, would have a hope in hell of doing even decently in the Europa League. Funny that some say La liga is weak defensively. And proof of that is Ronaldo's amazing tally? Well by that logic the EPL is also krap defensively if he scored 42 right? No, the proof of that is that most of the defences are very poor. They have neither the physicality of Prem defenders, the tactical knowledge and intelligence of Serie A defenders, or the all-roundedness of Bundesliga defendes. There are some defenders with pace, but aside from those playing for Real and Barca, most are very poor. A league shouldnt be judged on 2 teams but how close the rest of the 18 are to each other. I don't agree with that, in my opinion it should be how close the top 10 are, and how close the bottom 10 are. In the bundesliga, any of the top 10 teams could finish in the top 4, and thats what makes it interesting. La Liga has no competetiveness, and the heirarchy of the teams are incredibly structured. You could make a guess of the final league table, and aside from a few teams being maybe one or two places off, it would be pretty much correct. The only entertaining team in La Liga (based on results, not style of football) is Atletico Madrid, and thats because they are so inconsistent. While that is very true, he could, and probably would, have become a very different, and probably worse player if he went somewhere else. Considering he was so poor when he started playing for us, yet we still played him, you can't blame the fans for feeling like we should get a bit of credit for creating him. I'm pretty sure everybody here is grateful, and almost no-one is bitter, so I don't know why you're saying this as if you're telling off a kid who broke the rules. And considering this is a Man United forum, the world does revolve around us here. And if you don't like/can't accept that, why are you here? While I do feel some people here think we are more important than we are, they're not anywhere near as bad as you make them out to be.

Just a troll, who made an assumption of what the thread contained without reading it.
Anyway, la ligue is weak due to the way TV rights are done. In the Premiership, the league winners gains ~£50mill, the lower teams ~£30mill. So its pretty close an even and not to surprisingly the since its been like this for 3 or 4 seasons the gap between the Top 4 and the rest has somewhat narrowed.
Barca and Real though negotiate their own TV rights at around £150mill each. Imagine how close the Prem would be if Chelsea and us did that, leaving the rest with scraps and in constant financial peril. Its a situation that cant be fixed because its not like any other team can gate crash the top 2 and begin to close the monetary gap. So yes its is just a glorified SPL these days. The one team that was 'close' to them sold their best 2 players in summer. Its a joke league and i dont see it getting better.

I wouldn't waste my time going through everything "reddead" says, he's quite obviously a deluded "bitter" opposition fan. The following quote says it all really.
ou're the biggest thing in Manchester but c'mon, the world is much bigger. You're just another club. And what huge player in their right mind would wanna go play in your dumpy gloomy city anyway? You're nothing more than a stepping stone, and you know it.
You knowledge of football is obviously very small, come back in a couple of years when you actually have learned a thing or two.

@ Kozzie & Fletchebey - Nicely put. @ Manutd11 - Fucking quality @ reddead - On the point of Ronaldo's success. Christiano himself has said that in large part it was due with SAF, the United setup, and the our fans.

Scored another two goals tonight, it's in the 86th minute wonder if he can get one more.

Well those 2 goals helped him reach yet another landmark! Really fantastic. Just pfft "Cristiano Ronaldo made Real Madrid history with the two goals he netted against Real Sociedad at the Bernabeu: he became the first Madridista to score 50 strikes in only 51 league games. He is followed in the ranking by the legendary Puskas, who achieved this in 54 encounters." Oh and he's just turned what, 26?

While I kinda agree that we're usually bitter about losing players and tend to go off them once they've left (like every other fan), I can honestly say I've never encountered any bad feelings towards Ronnie since he left. Which is remarkable considering that Keane got a lot of stick when he left, we moved on quickly after Ruud, and once Beckham departed his deficiencies as a footballer (lack of pace for example) were quickly used to criticise him.
Schmeichel is probably the only player I can think off that has left for another club without any bad blood, even when he went to City.

I mean I don't hear many people slagging off players like Rossi and Pique, or Forlan for that matter.

Fair point, but they didn't really have that much of an impact with us. Usually when a big player for us leaves there's a lot of resentment, and we like to think that they're past it anyway. It's not like that with Ronaldo, we haven't had the best of him, his prime is yet to come, and yet we still like the guy and would welcome him back with open arms.
(Are you reading this Ronnie, come back home)
