barcelona got lucky a touch tonight, all the chances fell to ronnie who fluffed his lines yet again in this fixture. Thought iniesta and puyol were immense for barcelona.

Ronaldo has a total mental block against Barcelona. This was meant to be Madrid's night. You can say Barca had some luck, but their 1st and 3rd goals were brilliant. The worrying thing for Real, and everyone else, they can still play an awful lot better than that. Not that United will be facing them this season in Europe!

Ronaldo simply does not preform in the big games, Messi is streets ahead even though Messi did not have a great game but his run for Sanchez goal was very good. Ronaldo has a long way to go to be at the same level as Messi.

He's done it in the past for us in big games but when he gets on the same field as messi he just feels he has to do something extraordinary to justify some sort of praise. He chokes everytime against this barca team, he had one good game against them last season in the cup but every other game he is constantly poor. He missed a great chance to make it 2-0 before sanchez's equaliser and he missed another at 2-1 that he usually puts away blind folded. Ronaldo was at his best during his spell here, the uncompetitive nature of la liga and his goal tally flatters him if im being honest.

I don't think he ever produced his form in the big games for us to be honest. Ronaldo always goes missing in the big games i feel.

He did produce his form against the best in the Premier league and also in Europe, just sadly not against Barcelona.

He hasn't produced it against Barcelona for Madrid, to say he hasn't produced in big games is just wrong.
I admit at the start of his United career he struggled in the big games but after his 06/07 he gradually began to shine in the big games.
During the season of 07/08 he performed in all big games, christ he brought us to a champions league final singled handedly with some of his performances.

I was actually thinking of the games against Porto and Arsenal away on the road to Rome earlier, but as Ronaldo has apparently never produced in big games obviously I'm a moron.

Porto is a game which will always be lodged in my head, he was immense in that game really did lead the line up and his goal was just out of this world!

Well that's total bollocks, but you keep thinking that if you wish. he did go missing in a number of big games (not ALL big games, that's not true.) i remember when he scored that header against chelsea in moscow. i felt a sense of relief that i had evidence that he didn't disappear up his arse in the biggies, because that was what the general consensus seemed to be. then he fluffed the penalty, and although it would be harsh to judge someone over a missed pen i just knew from the moment he put the ball on the spot he was missing it. i said it out loud. messi didn't have a particularly special night at el classico, so he went back to basics - tracking back, dropping off and getting involved in the build up. whgen ronnie's not having a great time he sits out on the wing and we don't see much of him. i heard it said best this morning, messi rolls up his sleeves and gets involved. ronnies body language suggests he's having a sulk. there's no doubt in my mind that Messi is the better player, and it's by a slightly bigger margin than i've been used to thinking.
