It is a shame that there aren't anymore Manchester United players in the England side, that is for sure. Nevetheless, I would have liked Paul Scholes to have come back into the side, but in the end, he is a man of his word, unlike the dipper.

There is only one I wish for should England not win the world cup, and that is, ever player connected with the world cup, come back with no injuries, and come back with a good reputation. As it seems that its only Manchester United players who get it in the neck should England have a bad world cup.

I have a feeling that Nani will shine. Hope he does. Hasn't played too much football this season and will be fully fit.

Hernandez just scored a brace vs Gambia in Mexico's last game before the WC. Both very predatory type goals, one where he capitalizes on a defenders mistake and puts the ball between the GK legs, one typical fox-in-the-box type where he gets on the end of a low cross into the 6 yard box.
So that's 7 goals in 9 internationals I believe, not bad at all, although most came against fairly weak opposition. But you can only beat what's in front of you, right?

That is correct, but to score against a team that put 6 past Argentina in WC qualifying isn't too bad either. A goal against the Netherlands too. If this is his hotstreak, then God help the rest of the premier league. Although we won't see much of him in the pre-season friendlies, should Mexico qualify from their group. Another point is that I hope to see him test himself against Evra when they play France. Nothing better than to test yourself against the best left-back in the world.

Actually Fergie has said : "Normally we give the players 28 days' rest. But with Hernandez, we'll bring him to Philadelphia as soon as his games with Mexico are finished.
"The simple reason is he's young and I think he can handle coming in for training. But, more importantly, it's for him to integrate into the squad because he doesn't know any of the players."
That'll probably be the plan unless Mexico really go on a run to say the semi's .
Hopefully he's cemented a first choice starter so we can see him in a few proper competitive games. I still hope he makes that £7mill look a bargain by 3 weeks time.

Should Mexico not get further in the World Cup, then its not a bad thing as SIr Alex Ferguson can have him fresh for the pre-season friendlies.

I really really hope this kid is the real deal. If for no other reason than to serve a massive helping of egg-on-face for the 8 pages of vitriol offered up at his signing. Prediction: Hernandez to out score Rooney at the WC....

Very neat little chip by Nani, sheer finesse from the lad, I hope he can pull some of this out of the bag at the WC, and most importantly come back with bags of confidence.

Very similar to the tottenham one, same area as well. He's gonna be a very important player for us next season.

At the risk of beating a dead horse, I watch Nani do that from the right side and wonder how many tries it would take Valencia to do that?
