Two points to be made about this video:
1. The second goal was the best because it was started in defence with one-touch passing and scored by smudger at the end. Brilliant football!!!!
2. Michael Carrick displayed his real talent and ability in that match, that is something that cannot be forgotten, just needs to be awakened again.

Carrick and Giggs were incredible that night. I forgot about Giggs, but then again, Giggs has always had that ability, and so has Carrick, just that he needs to rediscover it for either England or for us, leaning towards us I'm afraid.

The whole team was Incredible that night! 3rd goal was the classic example of a Manchester United counter attack.

Giggs didn't score but what was it, 4 assists I think, and pulling the strings with Carrick.

Giggs didn't score but what was it, 4 assists I think, and pulling the strings with Carrick. If only Carrick had carried that form into last season, we would have been dead certs for the title. But alas, it wasn't meant to be. I am sure that Sir Alex has his reasons for keeping Carrick for next season rather than shipping him out.

One of those nights where everything clicks. Illuminates how devoid of confidence Carrick is currently.

Great video. Thanks glazereraser. Love the commentary after the first goal "One nil will do for Manchester United". He spoke too soon....

i was there that night, perhaps the best performance ive actually seen in the flesh. lots of trouble with the Roma fans afterwards though. daft bastards didnt take it too well. regarding the comments on carrick....im not a carrick hater at all, but it is pretty obvious that Carrick only puts in good performances when the rest of the team does. he isnt going to win you a game by himself, he just isnt that sort. if the team has a nightmare than Carrick doesnt have it in him to change anything, i long for the day we can counter attack again like this. the squad was class then. i miss that sort of stuff

Agreed. We played great free flowing football and our counter attack was superb. We need this kind of play back to the team. We were so sharp on the ball that night with all the team making an effort.

But that video is a reminder, to those who say Carrick should be sold, as to why Fergie is keeping him.
He hasnt lost the ability - hes just lost his confidence. that can be regained....

Yes mate. As they say on Fifa 10 . "Form is temporary, class is permanent. Don't worry he'll be back". Funny I know but it's true. Lets hope Carrick is back next season
