In case anyone missed it, you should probably watch this weekends fightnight. Lots of good fights including a fight of the year contender and some good finishes. One of the loudest crowds I've heard at a non PPV, because the fighters were giving them something to cheer for.

Great stuff from Edwards. Had to get the finish and he did. It will be interesting to see where Usman goes from here. Is he going to come back stronger like GSP after Serra, or is he going to crumble like Anderson Silva after Weidman. I think he's still young enough to come back stronger, but there is a greater precedent for great fighters to drop off after taking a bad loss.

I think he needed this loss to light that fire once more. This wasn't even a bad loss, he was winning on all scorecards. It was a moment of sheer magic from his opponent. I actually enjoyed him getting taken down a lot more than the KO . That felt momentous and was like an omen of what was to come. Also - stupid sexy Rockhold. I may actually miss the guy now that he's done.

The UFC is more like Pro wrestling than WWE is sometimes. One of the craziest PPV lead ups I can remember.

He should be moved to middleweight. He didnt even come close. Still think he beats Holland easily. Stylistically its a nightmarish match up for Holland.

It’s a much better main event this, but a double edged sword for Kevin Holland in the co-main.
On the one hand this is a big fight for him against a recognised name with a lot more focus on it. He’ll get a lot of credit for taking the fight. On the other hand it’s a nightmare matchup for him against a top level grappler and we’re all going to have to watch one of the most likeable men in MMA get mauled.

It's actually quite troubling that such a talented fighter is this unprofessional going into his first PPV main event. He could have fucked the entire card. It's actually quite impressive how they've managed to shuffle the card without screwing anyone over. All the drama at the prefight presser is beginning to look serendipitous. It's made a pretty uninspiring card a bit more interesting.
