Surprised there has been no thread so far.

I dislike cricket, but I do find myself getting caught up in the Ashes. SAme with Golf and the Ryder cup. Which is weird, because I hate non-football fans jumping on the World Cup bandwagon. Can anyone spell hypocrite?

I work nights so I've been following it online or listening to it on the wireless. Great couple of days for ENgland, though what happened to Australia in the first test should stop them from getting too cocky.

Right from Day 1, England were all over the Oz like a rash. A humiliating defeat for the Aussies & I think Eng might not get a better chance to win the Ashes in Australia.. Swann, I think is currently the best bowler in the world, has been for over a year now..

yeah im pretty much accepting the fact that youse will still hold the ashes. maybe over 5 tests you will get us 2-1. or even 1-1 if we can get a draw in the third test. but i think its yours again

Another great day for England. Leaked a few more runs than we might have but the pressures on them. A good innings and they'll be on the ropes, in the series as well as the test.

We get them 69 for 5 and the press starts writing stuff about how we should feel sorry for the Aussies and speculating that England might be the best side in the world. Unsurprising then that we end up getting thrashed.

Brilliant result. Just have to make sure we build up a commanding lead tomorrow. Reckon we should aim to bat all day, and half of the next, and try to bat Australia out without needing a second innings with the bat. Very much depends on how we fare tomorrow though. WE need to make sure they get no early wickets so they don't get a glimmer of hope.
