JJ Watt disagrees with you about "best pass rusher in the NFL."
And the Cowboys have invested a lot of draft picks in the offensive line, and that has made everything else on the team better. Murray is a great back, Romo doesn't have to single handedly carry the offense, and the defense isn't fatigued at the end of games.
I think it's tough to compare the Cowboys to Liverpool, because the Cowboys in terms of stature as a franchise are more like United (have giant stadium, huge fan base, most valued organization) but with a salary cap those advantages matter less. If Jerry could, he'd spend $200 M a season on players and not bat an eye at the cost. They just rake in money at that stadium..

He can disagree all he wants, Aldon Smith has played in 13 less games than Watt and still has more sacks. I would take Watt in a heart beat though, but that is neither here nor there. We were comparing Dallas and Liverpool in that they get all the coverage and have not done shit for the better part of two decades.

Von Miller disagrees with Smith and Watt.
Perhaps the Raiders are more comparable to Liverpool? Glorious past, absolute laughing stock now, deluded fans?

Chandler Jones out for the next month which is a huge loss for the pats. Defensive woes continue just like last year.

Only difference is everyone thinks the Raidurrs are a laughing stock and they get no credit. You would think the dippers have actually won something of import in the last decade (fine, nine years) for all you hear about them. Von Miller is a beast when he is not suspended or stoned. Might be a cap hit for you lot as well next year. I would take him in SD and pay him whatever he wants.

Raiders definitely have some "history". I liked them in Madden years, mostly because they were about half of them certifiable, just freeking nuts. Not to mention that they have counted some of the best players to ever step on a football field in their number, whole old AFC had some of the best players ever, (Bolts had more than their share too) I liked hell out of the AFC, and I loved it when Namath put on his fooking fur coat, called the game, then beat the Colts. My all time favorite quarterback. Broadway Joe. He came into the league with 2 bad knees and freeking lit it up. Thing I remember most was a Monday night game, Jets were not good, playing Raiders, who won the Super Bowl that season. Start of Game, Madden said that all the Jets had was Namath, and they would hammer him. Namath said he felt real good, wrist in freeking cast, knees about shot, might have been last or next to last season. Namath went out there an freeking killed them, over 400 yards in the air and the coverage was good, (Raiders secondary was brutal back then) I think I still have that on VHS somewhere I've always felt that given the way the AFC was run and the quality of the players/teams from top to bottom, the NFL saved their asses when they got that merger. Because I think the AFC would have made them obsolete in a generation.

D thomas, J Thomas, Welker and Von all need to be tied down. i think Welker will most likely leave but it's going to be very tricky to keep all those guys (and I'm sure there are plenty other 'lesser-lights' as well)

I think you are looking at 7-8 starters there and with both Thomas' needing to be paid as tops at their positions, could cause some issues. However, I am sure there are "ways" for the Broncos to get "under" the cap. They have done it before and all they got was a million dollar fine and a loss of a third round pick. Hell, they won two Super Bowls because of it so it is probably worth it in their eyes.

The Niners were probably the worst and I don't think they got shit in regards to punishment. The early years of the salary cap were riddled with teams taking advantage of loopholes, most of which, have been closed. The Broncos actually got caught for it, but you are right, I am sure it still goes on to a lesser extent. It's just always fun banter between AFC west teams because the three year stretch they were in violation, they won two Super Bowls. Which, they prbably would have won anyway because they had. imo, the second best QB of all time in Elway.

I'd have to say Montana. I know he played on much better teams than Elway for most of his career but he had ice in his veins. That Super Bowl winning drive against Cincinnati was incredible, one of the best I've ever seen.

That Super Bowl winning drive against Cincinnati was incredible, one of the best I've ever seen. Second best behind Montana. I grew up a bit of a Niner fan because during my formative years all my family in Northern California tried to influence me by buying me Niner gear. My dad finally squashed that, but I grew up watching Montana and Elway and there was very little between them. Montana had better teams a few years, but his early SB wins were with pretty average teams. I think he won two before Rice? Once Elway got a great team around him, they were as close to unbeatable as any team I have ever witnessed. One day I hope Rivers will have an opportunity to play with a dominant team. He has been on some real stinkers and managed to win. He will always be compared to Rapistburger and Sheli due to them all being drafted in the same class, but he is a far better QB than both. They had a solid supporting cast for years which Rivers has only had here and there throughout his career. Rivers will pass Eli in td's this year and has already passed Ben in almost every passing category and he has played two less years than both.
