I hear you man, this is all good-natured! Elway 2nd best? Best in your opinion? I'd have to say Montana. I know he played on much better teams than Elway for most of his career but he had ice in his veins. That Super Bowl winning drive against Cincinnati was incredible, one of the best I've ever seen. Second best behind Montana. I grew up a bit of a Niner fan because during my formative years all my family in Northern California tried to influence me by buying me Niner gear. My dad finally squashed that, but I grew up watching Montana and Elway and there was very little between them. Montana had better teams a few years, but his early SB wins were with pretty average teams. I think he won two before Rice? Once Elway got a great team around him, they were as close to unbeatable as any team I have ever witnessed. One day I hope Rivers will have an opportunity to play with a dominant team. He has been on some real stinkers and managed to win. He will always be compared to Rapistburger and Sheli due to them all being drafted in the same class, but he is a far better QB than both. They had a solid supporting cast for years which Rivers has only had here and there throughout his career. Rivers will pass Eli in td's this year and has already passed Ben in almost every passing category and he has played two less years than both. Where do you rank Brady in the all time list? 5 superbowl appearences, 3 wins. Won his superbowls with limited receivers, unbeaten in 2007, broke the TD record as well ( been broken again by peyton), still competing at a very high level and continuing to win with inexpierenced WR's and RB'S.

I put him 3rd or 4th. Always a tough argument between him and Peyton to be honest. One has the numbers the other the Super Bowls. Brady has done more with less than just about any great QB ever, but Manning will likely hold every major passing record once he hangs them up. You can certainly make an argument for either and not be wrong. I would lean towards Brady, but if Peyton wins another one and is actually great in the playoffs, I might change my mind. Even in his Super Bowl win, Peyton was bang on average but his defense played lights out and they also played one of the worst Super Bowl teams I have ever seen (sorry grandpatj , but that Bears team was average at best.

I know I'm biased but Brady beats Manning simply because he has literally carried our offence at times. Like, dragged genuine mediocrity to Legendary status.

I don't think there is anything between the two. Manning needs to win another SB in fairness but Denver's offence was in no great shakes when he arrived after Tebow but he elevated both Thomas' to elite level. DT looked a fine prospect and had the tools but working with Manning has made him a much better player. And Julius was pretty much written off as a bust before last season. Manning has put a huge amount of work into him and now he's comfortably top 3 TE's in the league. What Brady did, for me looking from the outside, was to push a franchise that couldn't win the big one over the line. The Pats improved under the previous QB (name escapes me) but Brady changed everything. Belichick is a genius but he needed Brady. That's what I've noticed. I could be wrong but he's a winner, pure and simple.

Another masterclass from Peyton and this time it was Sanders that he was hitting up all night. Defence is very good as well, scary stuff...

We are just way to beat up right now, and the officiating, holy shit that was awful. Going to the game here, should be fun. Hopefully we have our top two corners healthy by then, not counting on it, but one can hope.

I just saw the highlights, maybe 5 minutes. Heard there was some contoversy about a fumble from Caldwell? What no-one is mentioning (apart from Miller and Ware) is that Denver's run defence is outstanding. Knighton and Wolfe have been unreal this season, I think they've conceeded 150 yards on the ground in the last 3 games. I'm pretty sure the only player that has gotten any joy has been Matthews at the end of last season. Lynch had 88 a few weeks back but I think that's the highest all season.

Both turnovers were pretty awful calls tbh. Denver's run defense is much improved for sure. They were pretty awful last year and SD's run offence is the worst in the league (not helped by the fact we are on our 4th string running back). If guys get healthy the next time we meet should see Teo, Ingram, Matthews, Butler, Flowers, Verrett, and Attaochu back and hopefully Fluker healthy. Should be more competitive as all those guys are starters except Brown.

NFC was average at best. Besides, as a Bears fanatic, there are 2 things that are mandatory. 1) Remember 1985, arguably the best defensive team of all times, and how much fun it was to watch Superbowl Shuffle, look to past. I still have signed photo of Butkus and Sayers. Though might have been ball boy who signed them. Remember Bobby Douglas? Or Butkus catching a pass for extra point after blown snap, for a win ?? 2) Wish Mike McCaskey was burning in hell for his stupidity in breaking that team up.
