I was in the process of buying our first house, so I wasn't going to watch it. All my mates were giving the usual grief so off to the pub went I. HT I was getting on my toes but something told me to stay. Glad I did now! It must be right up there with the best games that one.

As I said, watched it on MOTD and got pissed as a newt and grief from my wife afterwards. Just looking at Hoddle's face as the goals rattled in. He had a big smug smile if I remember right going into the tunnel at h/t. That second half onslaught wiped the smile right off of his face lol.  |

Talk about memories. I will always remember this match. I was working as a security guard at the time here in Edinburgh. The first half I was in my security box and listening to United go 3 nil down against Hoddles Spurs on the radio. I was pissed off something bad. First half finished so I decided to do a patrol of the grounds too calm down. Came back to base around 30 minutes later, turned the radio back on and then heard "Spurs 3, Unite 2...game on" Nearly fell off my chair. Then hearing 3-3,3-4,3-5 game over. I was on cloud 9 and screaming lol. I paid for that though as I had forgot to do a check call to my control centre and got a right rollicking when they called me. Worth it though. Rushed home after finishing my shift and watched the match that night on MOTD....and got pissed watching it. SAF must have kicked a few arses at h/t and it worked. Just looking at him chewing his gum with a smile when the goals started to pop in. Don't see comebacks like this anymore.  
Thanks for posting. Great game. Made my day. 1st 3 goals were results of brilliant deliveries, which is almost absent these days. Valencia can learn a thing or two by just watching these videos. 4th goal shows the brilliance of Scholsey, totally unnoticed he releases the ball so quickly, before a defender could react. 5th goal was a typical counterattack, finished off by a wonderful strike by Becks. Most of the goals had Becks-Scholes combination in the build-up. Brilliant work by Ole too. Miss those days |

Just looking at the line up - there was RvN, Solskjaer and Andy Cole up front with Scholesy, Becks and Veron behind them...pretty tasty!! I know. Gives me the goosebumps just looking at the video. Those were the days long gone. And too think we won nothing that year with them playing. Came 4th in the League, FA Cup 4th round, League Cup 3rd round, Charity Shield runners up and the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup. Yet Ruud was top scorer with 36 goals in all competitions. The following year we won the League though and Ruud was top scorer again with 44 goals. I don't recall SAF ever finishing 4th in the PL. |

It was funny when MO7 did it, but I would prefer Gerrard to have a League Titleless Career.
Wouldn't want him to outdo Giggsy and Scholesy anymore than he already has with much fewer trophies and lower ability.
