The man commentating on Ronaldo's free kick in that video, he's MUTV isn't he? I detest him. He really doesn't know how to comment on football. Must be a nice person, but God I cannot stand it when I see MUTV videos and his voice starts playing. 'OH MY WORD.' He's abysmal. Cannot listen to him. Haha, I totally agree with that!

Met up with a few old season ticket holder friends tonight. It’s an odd way to meet people but when you spent countless weekends in the pub, at games etc with someone they slowly but surely become close friends. The only thing you have in common with them is a seat number but as time progresses you start asking about their kids, meet random friends who steal their tickets and embrace each other in August after a long summer. Anyway I digress.
We started talking about everything United and we spoke about one particular away day we all enjoyed together May 4th 1999 at Anfield vs Liverpool. Now me and my son were sat quite near the front and fortunately the two lads next to us agreed to swap seats with our OT ST friends so we could sit together ( cost us 20 quid). So the 4 of us sat and sang together in an away game for the first time ever as they normally didn’t travel to away games. The atmosphere was as hostile as I could ever remember at Anfield. Bayern Munich scarves were visible, banners flying which by this time served as a reminder of times gone by whilst we were on the brink of history and they knew it. I had been to Anfield a few times in the 80’s and it was always a daunting/ depressing experience. They were just that good and we were just that midtable team hoping for an upset, something we could talk about on Monday. You watched them win title after title, conquer Europe and you begin to believe that it will never happen. This though was the first time I actually felt the tide turn. Yes we had won 2 doubles and a few titles since 1993 but to me It had never felt more real than that night. We started of fantastic and another Beckham cross ( seemed like every goal lol) met the head of Yorkie and we were 1-0 up. Irwin made it 2-0 ( underrated player for us and a better penalty taker than Cantona). Then they came back and of course Ince made it 2-2 in the closing moments. Now you might ask why would I pick this game to talk about? We lost a 2-0 lead in a very tight title race. But I left that stadium smiling as did my two mates because for us the fall of Liverpool was complete. Here they were the “ mighty: Liverpool waving Bayern flags and celebrating a goal from an ex United player like they just won the league but in fact it was just a 2-2 draw at home. That’s when I knew it was our time and obviously what happened after makes it more perfect.

Seemingly this was sent to United after we had won the league and they won the F. A cup. Apparently Shankley was a United fan.

Don't know what to say about that tbh. That's some revelationary piece of history.
And to think Sir Matt played for L.......l aswell.
I don't care what anyone thinks. Shankly was a top football inspiration.

MUTV is ace. The old game are brilliant. The tackles in the mid 90's make me happy. It was still a mans game. Tackling is totally dead these days.
