Just watching ‘Renfield’ Bloody hilarious ,with the emphasis on blood. Nicolas Cage as Dracula is more ‘Nicolas Cage’ than ever with his sarcastic timing that’s absolutely spot on .

I watched it last night, a film of two halfs for me. I loved the way it started and I thought it would be a lot of fun, but it kinda went down a road which has been done many times. Cage was excellent though as Dracula. Some very cool fight scenes too. Good Saturday night flick.

Watched a couple over this weekend.
Fall is quite good, the wife is afraid of heights and needed to go smoke a ciggie every now and then to calm her nerves watching it.
3000 Years Of Longing was a pretty decent watch. Really didn't know much about it before putting it on, but really enjoyed it.

Watched ‘Air-Courting a Legend’ yesterday on Prime, about Nike’s pursuit of Micheal Jordan ,with Matt Damon, Ben Affleck ,Jason Bateman and Chris Tucker amongst an excellent cast. Absolutely 💯 recommended-if you’ve not seen it already!

Guy Ritchie really should make more movies! The Covenant is a great film. Dar Salim is a badass. Jake Gyllenhaal is becoming a very fine actor too. This story really does bring to light the struggles of the interpreters after the US left Afghanistan.

Since 2019 he's filmed: The Will Smith Aladdin, The Gentlemen, Wrath of Man, Operation Fortune: Ruse De Guerre, The Covenant and has two under way, one's called T he Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, and the other is an untitled action film. I've not seen the Covenant, but the others all kept their standards-per-scene at a pretty impressive level, 'f you ask me.

I really like what Ritchie's doing with Hugh. He's cast him in Operation Fortune, too, as a very similar camp gangster type. I will say Ruse De Guerre felt slow, despite its really quick pace for the first act, until Hugh shows up and he just grabs your attention with this brilliantly bizarre characterisation he's been gifted by Ritchie!

This isn’t going to sound very “cool” but Hugh Grant was sensational in Paddington 2 and should’ve got an Oscar nom.

I’m watching Thunderball for the 80 billionth time this afternoon ,loving the casual violence against marine life James to Felix:”shoot one of those sharks to keep the others occupied” Felix duly ‘shoots’ a shark.Cut-away to an actual shark being actually shot- “I don’t know how long the others will take before they finish him off” says our hero before jumping into the crystal clear ,blue water ,to find the Vulcan Bomber lying on the sea floor. Never mind the general misogyny and female objectification. Ahhh different times!

Never mind the general misogyny and female objectification. Ahhh different times! Reminds me of the Karl May book Winnetou: the Apache Knight, where for a span of the first four chapters or so, he kills a young cow buffalo & an old bull buffalo with a bullet in each eye from 150-yards out, sucker punches a drunkard worker, wrangles a mustang and a mule with a lasso, then goes full Leo Dicaprio in the Revenant on a grizzily bear with a bowie knife, after once again shooting out its peepers… All of this after the opening line of the book about himself is, “There isn’t much to tell about me, a fellow of twenty-three,”
