This Herrer farce needs to be addressed by the club asap. Once the press get over the Ozil loving they will have a field day. Someone other than Moyes needs to cone out ant state the facts. Were the price and salary agreed, was it Utd or Bilbao that cocked up. Who were the 3 amigos? It's not an on field footballing issue that embarrassed the club, it off field stuff. So Moyes shouldn't have to sit there answering questions covering the arses of Ed's men. They are quick enough to tweet and issue statement when a 3yr deal with a tyre company is agreed! I think we need a few days for the dust to settle. Already there is a circling of the wagons, Moyes has said he really likes the player but he's too expensive so what was yesterday all about then? The question that needs to be asked, and one that would normally result in a sacking, is why did the club end up paying 4 million more for a player they could have had a month ago. There's no worming out of that one. He will probably get a bonus because of the wages saved, its likely theres not much difference in the extra we paid, not including the difference he could have made on those lost 5 points! What does that matter though, have you seen our new sponsors?

Moyes and Ed's meeting will be a lot different than Ed's and the Glazers.

I find it frustrating and worrying how quickly Woodward and the Glaziers have managed to subdue Moyes, can't help feeling Sir Alex was the only person stopping the evolution from football club to business. I like Moyes and Fellaini and I think both will perform brilliantly but I worry about the seeming lack of football understanding behind the scenes. I don't understand how the biggest club in the world can make so much but re invest so little, hopefully we're just saving it for Ronaldo next summer (fingers crossed). I am new around here and I don't like my first posts to be negative, I think a front six of RVP Kag Roo Zaha Fro Carrick could be very very solid and dangerous.

Oliver Kay @oliverkaytimes 3m #MUFC might want to leave it a week or two, until deadline-day dust has settled, before announcing record-breaking £350m revenue forh2012/13

Jesus this day is going to be a long and stressful one. Give me fucking strength.

I have mixed feelings.
I think Fellaini will help the team and his arrival is aims our biggest problem on the midfield. So it's a positive development. It saves somewhat our transfer season. But we overpaid him. I don't know if he worth that money, we will see it later. And we could have bought him weeks ago, so he could have prepared to the season with the team, and he could have been a help to us on the big matches against the Chelsea or the Pool.
By the other transfer businesses we made a fool of ourselves. I hope we didn't made permanent damage on the club's reputation. I am always trying to be positive so I hope it is only part of the learning process and in the future we will do better but I'm not sure that this is the case, at least in the short term. We'll see. I don't think that one bad transfer season can do really big damage, but if we will do it badly in the future I will be worried.
From now on I will be concerned about the ongoing season only, I close this transfer craziness now.

My thoughts on the summer transfer window regarding United for what it's worth.
The negatives: It's not so much about who United have signed or not signed but the way they have gone about their business that is most worrying. Was there a gentlemans agreement not to sign Fellaini that United then renagaded on - I don't know, but to end up paying more than his original release clause is embarressing to say the least. Then there is all the failed bids; Thiago was always holding out for bayern it seems, Fabregas is at the clubs he grew up supporting and attemting to negeotiate with Bilbao with just hours remaining of the window, well, combine all that together and United look incompetent, especially compared to our rivals such as City and Chelsea. What's worse, players of a standard suitable ofr Old Trafford were available, Ozil was gettable and Mata possible too. We can only hop some serious lessons have been learned by the new regime and that we won't see the same mistakes repeated.
The Positives: Fellaini does improve the squad, a goal scoring hard tackling midfielder who single-handedly battered United at Goodison last season (although well marshalled by Jones in the return match), opponents don't like playing against him. If he can raise his game, add some guile and not get booked so often then United will be all the better for having him. A good debut followed by a goal against City then hero he will be. Expect to see loads of wig sellers outside the ground in the very near future though.
Overall, a lot of improvement is needed - targets need to be identified early and then secured with the minimum of fuss. Not always easy I know but it can be done. I hope United revisit Hererra, even in January. His release clause price is reasonable in todays market and even if he can't play in Europe, the league and a couple of decent cup runs (I hope) will still give him plenty of games to play in. If lessons are learned and mistakes are not repeated then we might look back on this summer as merely a blip. For the sake of United I hope so.

On a more positive note, potentially Coentrao and Herrera in January?
