Shortlist.
I'm sure just like everywhere else there will be comments on the fact there are no women on the list.
Mark Cavendish Alastair Cook Mo Farah Amir Khan Andy Murray Darren Clarke Luke Donald Dai Greene Rory McIlroy Andrew Strauss

Give it to Darren Clarke. After everything he went through with his wife, then to finally win a major when the spotlight was on Rory and GMac, incredible.
Is Khan on there because he unified the Light Welterweight (?) IBF and WBA belts?

Id say between Clarke and Mcllroy, but then eveyone is diffeent. As said above because of what he went thro and then lifted the ryder cup. Rory because how what he did in the u.s open. First in quite a few years a footballer hasnt been on the list aswell im sure.

I think Clarke will grab it because of what he has over come in his life, losing his wife and still having the courage to play on.
Very inspiring.

I would like to see Mark Cavendish win the award. I was there in Paris when they left Creteil for the last stage and they went through my home town. It was fantastic. He showed guts and determination in spite of being a sprinter, to try and get somewhere during the Alps and Pyreneen stages.

Mo Farah must have a chance, he was voted the European Athlete Of The Year, won gold in the 5000m in the World Champs and silver in the 10000, first Brit to win any medal in either,

Surely it'll be Clarke, not that I follow most of the sports of the candidates.

Mancini has been on twice now.
Supporting United has brought many great things. The latest one is that my penis is not stuck up the arse of Manchester City.

I stopped taking an interest as soon as I saw that Andy Murray was in contention for an award with the word "personality" in it.
