Is it just me or do we look more solid and composed at the back when the big dane is in goal?? I think a decision on who gets the number 1 shirt will need to be made soon and just now I favour Lindegaard.

I don't think a decision on who will be number one needs to be made, it's nice to have healthy comeptition between them.
At the moment for me Linders is the better of the two, he's much more confident when coming off his line and he commands his box more than De Gea does. I've no doubt this will come for De Gea in time as he gets use to the english game but for now i'd pick Linders. In the long term De Gea will prove to be the better option.

I disagree on the point you make about naming our number 1. It is crucial to have as much stability as possible in your back 5 and chopping and changing your goalkeeper is not an ideal situation.

Poor DDG, seldom had the luxury of a settled defense in front of him. Remind me again how many games did Vidic start when he was GK? DDG's kicking n distribution is miles better. For a counterattacking team like us, that attribute cannot be underscored enough. It really grates me there seems to be a propaganda against him. Age and experience counts for nothing I suppose. Give the guy a break for ffs .
EDIT: was not aimed at any poster in particular. just defending him from the unfair shit he gets from the ABU media & a small section of our own fans.

There's no propaganda about him, people have noticed a few flaws in his game. Ones which can be sorted out with in time, it's quite obvious he's not to confident coming off his line as he's not upto the physicality of the english game.
We've been asked to chose who'd we'd like to see in the bets, choosing one doesn't mean you don't like the other.
Ferguson obviously feels both keepers have something to offer United otherwise he wouldn't be playing Linders to often.

Considering some of the Charlie's we've had in the sticks I'm grateful for the both of them.

@eric: In the media there sure is. One of the worst pieces of crap was written recently by the clown Lawrenson. IMO, DDG has already shown a marked improvement in his handling and coming for crosses. For someone so young and settling in a completely different climes, not bad eh? For me DDG all day long Like 7even said, we have a fantastic No1 and 2 on our hands. A really good position to be in !!

I like Lindeguardian, but he ain't in De gea's class. Have we forgot DDG's performances at Goodison and anfield already? The lad was immense. Sure, he had a nervy first few games. Since then though, he's improved. Top class keeper.

De Gea has exceptional distribution and shot stopping ability. Lindegaard is a good keeper, but De Gea is something special.

Lindegaard def looks pretty decent but De Gea has not been bought for all that money to compete with someone else in the long-term. Ferguson sees him as his number one and although Lindegaard gets thrown in here and there i don't see that continuing into next season or the season after.
Lindegaard is too good to be a second choice keeper so i wonder how long we'll get to keep hold of him.
De Gea looks better every week. I said it after the community shield but the quality of his kicking is phenomenal and i expect him to finish the season with an assist.

I like Lindegaard but De Gea for me! He's a great shot-stopper and his kicking is better than VDSaar's IMO and proved allready he'll improve. I have no doubt he'll be the best/ one of the best when he bulks up a bit and gets used to be more physical...

I like Lindegaard's attitude. And I have said time after time that De Gea is one for the future - he requires more work as he's not the finished article yet. Needs more time on things like language and localising. Anyway, I really like what Fergie is doing now - rotation. De Gea's too young considering he's foreign to our culture and to take all the responsibility / exposure yet. Think it shouldn't be too big a problem rotating the goalkeepers.

Lindegaard for right now, De Gea for the near future. In fact, I like Lindegaard for our number one shirt but that's because I like the bloke as a person, he always seems a sound lad.
De Gea is the better goalie though, so brain tells you that he'll be our future number one.
