Humours me at how the critics have settled in after wot a dozen games? Whereas weve had shite at the club for years and they dont even get as much stick. The problem with some fans is they only remmeber the shit performances and not the ones that get us out of the shit so that they can get into a slagging debate about why he shouldnt play, and then people wonder why theres so much expectation on his shoulder. Schmeichel, VDS, Barthez, Howard. All world class at what they did, however as good as they were ALL made mistakes between the posts. Its how you motivate yourself to become better, you LEARN from them. (yes granted its a bit unfair to put the great dane and VDS alongside the other 2 but its just a point im making ) FFS give the lad a break.

De Gea is our player of the month for November. Well earned I'd say. Between him, Vida or Carrick. Though he made those two mistakes at the start of the season so we should still get rid of him

Had we a player of the month in November?
I don't think any player deserved it really, would be inclined to give it to Carrick but he only played three games.

De Gea for me. Lindegaard is excellent but De Gea has something else which sets him apart. In a couple of years he'll be spoken of in the same glowing terms as Peter and Edwin and deservedly so.
Patience boys give him time! Remember back to many times between Peter and Edwin - OHHHHH still makes me shiver.

Surely its time for Lindegaard to be given a run in the 1st team, De Gea mistakes are costing us.

Gibson was at fault for the goal. and carrick I personally blame Berbatov for being injured. On topic: De Gea pulled off a cracking save tonight, and he was actually unlucky with the first one. Typical that he managed to get it away from goal safely but it fell straight onto a Basel foot. I think questions could be asked why he didn't come for the ball in the second though, I know Smalling was also at fault but De Gea could possibly have come for it. I don't think he cost us, our shitness in the attacking third was to blame.

De Gea has replaced the worlds number 1 Edwin Van Der Sar at the biggest club on the planet. he's 20 years old armed with about a single seasons worth of top flight football under his belt in another country.
i don't think many people really grasp the enormity of this.
He's doing v. well and Ferguson is managing the situation with the keepers just fine.
No problem here.

Agree Jim. The mistakes are something we have to cope with, and hope that they're not too costly. If you buy a 20-year-old keeper, regardless of the cost, and don't expect mistakes you're being naive. And this goes double when you're a club of our size and the keeper is moving abroad for the first time and doesn't speak the language.
