totally agree with jimbonba. de gea is obviously worth his place for me, he is a kid all he needs to do is get stringer, grasp language better and adapt to english game and we have the best keeper for years to come. lets not even debate whether he is to blame, as far as i'm concerned, wrong team to start with.

De Gea, everyone makes mistakes, first season, still under huge looking mirror, no wonder and no one of defenders tackled that ball.

I personally blame Berbatov for being injured. On topic: De Gea pulled off a cracking save tonight, and he was actually unlucky with the first one. Typical that he managed to get it away from goal safely but it fell straight onto a Basel foot. I think questions could be asked why he didn't come for the ball in the second though, I know Smalling was also at fault but De Gea could possibly have come for it. I don't think he cost us, our shitness in the attacking third was to blame. How the hell was he unlucky for the 1st one? a good goalkeeper should be going down and picking that ball up instead of kicking it. Even before that he got very lucky when he came out to catch the ball and made a hash of it. Am not saying he was at fault for us going out but he has made some big mistakes for us and it is costing us no 1 can say otherwise.

De Gea has to be sold & if Fergie has faith in Lindergaard then another No 2 has to be bought. He is & has been nothing short of a disaster, another Taibi.

But what if Lindegaard goes on to make a mistake in the next match. Should we get rid of him too and bring in another keeper. Is that how this game works?

Should we drop Smalling for his mistake on the 2nd goal?

Should we drop Smalling for his mistake on the 2nd goal? If we had a fit full back then yes, Lindegaard has been very good the games he has played he has not been given a fair chance in the side.

It was a ball fired square across the goalmouth that he managed to kick away from goal safely, but it fell straight onto a Basel foot. Seriously, I could swear I'd typed that before.

Who said anthing about getting rid of De Gea just on the strength of last nights shocker? ? No but you're judging him based on a handful of performances for us in his first six months in the country. Give the lad a chance. Were you one of the ones saying that Vidic and Evra weren't good enough for us after their slow start to life in England?

What has this got to do with any player other than De Gea? De Gea has had ample opportunity &has come up well short. It was very evident on just last nights showing that experienced players like Rio & Vidic do not trust him. You build a side from the keeper forward & De Gea will never be that keeper.

I wish I had your power of foresight.
And the thing it has to do with other players is that perhaps people shouldn't be so willing to judge players based on so little evidence.

I have to be honest here i've been holding back for sometime but I can't continue to listen to peoples shit about De Gea being the best young keeper in the world. Its total bullshit, he has continued to let us down in the nets since arriving, stop being biased and face the fact that in this moment in time he doesn't look anything like a United goal keeper. This is effecting the back lines confidence too, Gar Neville also mentioned how Linders look more assuring in the net than De Gea.
