hang on we had to score more then basel to go through, we didnt, so how is he at fault? by the way i dont think the first goal should of stood, and we were very unlucky not to win, they had like 3 shots and scored 2, we dominated the game i think

De Gea has to be sold & if Fergie has faith in Lindergaard then another No 2 has to be bought. He is & has been nothing short of a disaster, another Taibi. sarcasm?

I can't continue to listen to peoples shit about De Gea being the best young keeper in the world. Its total bullshit, he has continued to let us down in the nets since arriving, stop being biased and face the fact that in this moment in time he doesn't look anything like a United goal keeper. for fuck sake have a day off mate. he's had half a season with us and you've written him off. you're judging him like he's in his mid 20's and has been with us 2 or 3 seasons.

The good thing about this whole situation IMO is that we now have 2 quality GK's and I believe it's a great problem to have to choose between the two. When was the last time we had that?
Two young GK's with years ahead of them, admittedly I would say De Gea has had a shakier start to the season than Lindegaard but we must remember he's only 20, Van Der Sar was 40 when he retired, De Gea has plenty of time to settle down.
On another note, what a save last night from the long range effort?

For fucks sake, some people allready want to get rid of De Gea - and then what?? We could have bought Lloris or Neuer who are older and more experienced, but gueass what - those two too made some serious howlers in the last year. Give the lad a chance. As long as he learns on his mistakes and improves as he clearly allready has I won't be fussed if we concede few extra goals this season - it's to be expected. Writing off a 21 one year old - lunacy - guess how well did Van Der Saar do at Juventus before he was shipped off to Fulham.....

De Gea will be amazing. ... he needs a few slaps from Vidic (or some hard arial challanges) first and some fucking weight gain 3000 and he'll be bossing that 18 yard box like the great dane used too.
He's only young, he's already got bags of experience, he just needs the confidence and the muscle to play in the premier league

We've concede five goals in two games against Basel, with all due respects there nobodies when it comes to European football.
You don't pay 20 million for a goal keeper and the say 'he will be good', time is not a luxury goal keepers have.
He's unsettling the whole team, the defenders have no confidence in front off him, you can see our centre halfs dropping deeper each game in fear of leaving him exposed.
He's a long long way off the finished article.

I'm not saying I wan't him sold or anything like that I just cannot sit back and listen to comments like he's a great goal keeper and he's the best young goal keeper in the world. Thats to me is total bollix, sorry to use that fowl language but it's the only way I can describe it at the moment.

He has the potential to be one of the best keepers in the world. Sure, he's making mistakes now, but players generally do as they're learning their trade. Ronaldo was hit and miss for his first two years and even some fans called for us to get rid of him. Have patience Eric.
What did you expect when Fergie signed a 20-year-old keeper? VDS mkII? He has made mistakes, but he has also shown great promise.

idiots if he was really that shit from the start he wouldnt of even got near athletico's first team he won the bloody europa league with them aged 17 or sumthin The most ridiculous post I have ever seen on here bar none! More players that show early promise @ the age of 16/17 do not go on & progress to become great players than those that actually do make it to the top, correct or not?? Correct! If you are comparing Athletico with United then that really does demonstrate how poor we have been this season & just because a player has the temprament to play at a small club like Athletico does not guarantee that they will be able to handle the pressure @ United. It's very obvious he can't,his concentration levels & decision making clearly show that he is not coping One thing that has made Fergie so successful is his ability to make ruthless changes & show players the door when others may have been tempted to hold onto a player. I hope he has the same clarity of mind now with De Gea & buys another keeper to either replace him or be back up to Lindergaard.

Another thing that has made Fergie so successful is his ability not to make knee jerk decisions after a handful of games. He leaves that up to the short-sighted fans

Can't believe De Gea is still getting stick. Sure, he's had a few lapses in concentration but he's a young lad and he's already saved us plenty of times this season. We'd have lost to the dippers if it wasn't for him. Not sure on the stats at the moment, but earlier in the season, we'd had the most shots on goal against us but we had hardly conceeded any up to the City game where he may as well have been on his own at the back. He quite clearly has the potential and soon enough, he will be one of the best in the World.

History & in particular were keepers are concerned would tend to not agree with you.
I fear that if this decision is not made now, this time next season we still be talking about the one lapse of concentration he shows per game & our further decline.

It does not take talent to command the box, if he has a language problem he is not communicating to his back 4 what they need to do, as seen with smalling v Basel. De Gea kept his mouth shut Smalling had no idea Frei was lurking he clearly was letting that ball go out of play.
