Sir Alex Ferguson sees Crystal Palace's Nathaniel Clyne as the answer to Manchester United's problems at right back. The United manager was impressed with England Under 21 defender Clyne's composure in Palace's shock Carling Cup quarter-final win at Old Trafford last month and is ready to make a move after hearing that Newcastle, Fulham, Aston Villa and Everton have all showed an interest in the 20-year-old. Filling the void left by Gary Neville's retirement at the end of last season has proved difficult for Ferguson. Chris Smalling and Phil Jones have filled in, but the dislocated shoulder suffered by Rafael da Silva ahead of the current campaign has proved very costly. Palace may be tempted by a cut-price offer in January, rather than allowing Clyne's contract to run out in the summer. Is he better than Rafael or Fabio?Who will eventually stop picking up so many injuries once they have fully developed. His teamate Zaha looks a real talent too, worth keeping an eye on.

My best mate works at Palace and says this kid is the real deal, reckons he'll be Englands No1 RB for years to come so it can only do us good I think.

He was one of the Palace players who I did notice actually. Always willing to get forward. He wasn't so good to think,
"There's a potential signing."
though.

This kid might have it but why are we going an "arsenal". Get a player becoz he has potential. Its a gamble everytime. We need somebody that we know can do the job. Been the case for long enough, were signing 16-17 year old that never get heard of again whereas you have world class player that Id kill to see in a united shirt. Yet were interested in signing a player from a league below us. Come on.

Yeah, to hell with buying youngsters for the future - we should never sign anyone under 21 that either cant make an immediate start or isnt a big name.
What the hell is he doing planning for the future like

I mean, the last thing we need is another Smalling, Jones or Hernandez. They come in, contribute nothing and just complain constantly about this that and the other. Rubbish!!!

In-demand Crystal Palace defender Nathaniel Clyne is pleased his star performances are attracting the interest of big-name clubs. The full-back will be out of contract at the end of the season and has been linked with Manchester United, while Ajax and Newcastle are also reported to have shown interest. Palace manager Dougie Freedman wants Clyne to sign a new deal and believes there is still room for the youngster to development. But after the 20-year-old produced another man-of-the-match performance in Monday's 1-0 win over Birmingham, the England Under-21 international admitted he is happy to be linked with other clubs. Asked about the reported interest in his services, he told Sky Sports HD1: "I am delighted. It shows I am getting credited for my good performances. "I have just got to focus on my game and keep working hard. And whatever happens, happens." www1.skysports.com/football/news/11706/7387780/Clyne-happy-with-reports

I hope not, most players grow out of these runs of injuries, though some do not.
I suppose its better to be covered for all eventualities and at present the twins cannot complete 90 mins without something popping out of place.I cant see us ditching them, for starters they are both smashing players but equally important is the fact that they will be considered home grown talents under UEFA squad regulations.

no this means rafael has competion from another rightback speacilist. it means above all else we have a proper righback More likely the twins have told fergie to do 1 on contract negotiations a situation he would have brought about by playing lessers or out of form players in there stated positions, If this is so i hope fergie gets the shunt
