Nah, his stupid wife chose Fulham because she didn't want to leave the U. K., apparently. Idiot. I'm still confused about this. When did he himself get a wife? Didn't he always have a Bulgarian mafia boss' super hot sister for a girlfriend?

There's a point in everyone's life, where you just realise that one of your idols and 'never-wrong' figures isn't infallible. Ferguson's handling of Berbatov at our club was one of those moments. do me a favour. ferguson yoinked tevez from the side and berba was straight in. he's been given lots of games and every chance. Tevez was shit. Great team player but his goal-scoring for us was like Suarez for Liverpool. Ferguson rarely played Berbatov in his best position (leading the line), then stopped playing him in his best position and Berbatov had scored 20 in hald a season. Remember when we talked about buying strikers who could get 20 goals in a whole season? Berbatov did that by Christmas (basically). Then, when we needed a player to hold the ball up against a Barcelona team who were clearly going to out-play us, he first had Berbatov on the bench, then not even in the squad. What the hell? Playing Berba in lots of games isn't the same as giving him the best chance to succeed, and Ferguson didn't do that. Last season he didn't even give him games. It's a real shame for 'Berbatov at United' that CQ left when he did, I reckong ol' Carlos could have had us playing a system that made Berba look like a all-time superstar. EDIT: Berba's best position could also have been in midfield. . .

I agree with all you have mentioned , however as Jim says Berba was given a lot of games , sometimes a player also has to see how he can fit in to a system , that's where versatility comes in.
Personally i don't think that for our fast paced game play Berba suited very well. Yes he is talented and a Genius and all but sad that he couldn't adapt to us. That's how i'd put it.

Tevez was shit. Great team player but his goal-scoring for us was like Suarez for Liverpool. Tevez goal tallies in his 2 seasons were better than 3 out of berba's 4 full seasons at the club. Ferguson rarely played Berbatov in his best position (leading the line), then stopped playing him in his best position and Berbatov had scored 20 in hald a season. Remember when we talked about buying strikers who could get 20 goals in a whole season? Berbatov did that by Christmas (basically). berba didn't look like a player who wanted to lead the line to me. wanted to drop off and get involved. We already have rooney there and i'd assume Fergie thought they'd interchange. Then, when we needed a player to hold the ball up against a Barcelona team who were clearly going to out-play us, he first had Berbatov on the bench, then not even in the squad. What the hell? this defo. seems a massive gaffe by the Wiz. Berba is probably the one player the ball would stick to for us in the barca half

that's a big reason why he's earned a place in our hearts but that's not really the discussion mate.

incidentally. over the next 5 or 6 games after that liverpool game, berba really didn't look to me like a player who had just scored a historic hat trick. he didn't look hungry to get into the box and score goals.

jimberba appears to be disagreeing with me. I find this highly derogatory.
I'm leaving the board.

I think Berbatov is somebody you need to build a team around. That's my opinion. Fergie had Rooney to build the team around that time. So I guess that meant our magician had to play second fiddle. It's unfortunate that it had to go down like that. As bestie said, the gaffer's benching of Berb for the final was a pretty big mistake too.
