United travelled to Ajax this weekend to take part in the Aegon Future Cup alongside AC Milan, Ajax, Ajax Cape Town, Besiktas, Bayern, Barca, and Desportivo Brasil.
The tournament was for players born in 1995.
United made it to the final again - finishing 2nd in their group behind Ajax and beating Munich in the semis.
In the final, despite holding a 2-0 lead, Ajax pulled it back to 2-2 and went on to win it 5-3 on penalties.
Bad weekend for the youngsters - finishing runners up in 2 tournaments, but credit to them for doing as well as they did against supposedly better academies. We had a couple guest players from other teams in our squad too - Reading's Jake Cooper (one of 2 players from Reading) and Exeter's Sean Goss.
Highlights of the tournament will be screened by MUTV on 22 April.
“When I used to hear Muhammad Ali proclaim to the world that he was the greatest I used to smile,” Murphy once said. “The greatest of them all was a footballer named Duncan Edwards.”

Every city tells itself it's the greatest city on earth. But only one gave us the computer, The Roses and above all, United.
