He signed a 5 year deal last month.

Not seen much of him to be fair, but he was likened to Roy Keane in the media so that's not a bad thing.
Dangerous game trying to get deals sorted after tournaments. Prices get inflated. I'd imagine Ferguson is well aware of this. He tried to sort Hargreaves out in 2006 before the World Cup took place but couldn't get it done in the end. This lad is highly tipped by the Dutch so I wouldn't be stunned to see him have a good Euros and command a higher fee.
Has anyone seen enough of him to suggest how much they think he'd be worth right now?

15 Mil was the price quoted , if i am not wrong , can expect it to go to 25 MIl at least after Euros if he has a decent one.

We could do with placing a bid before the Euros & seeing where it gets us. There can be no harm by bidding beforehand I suppose. Looks a solid midfielder, & left footed I believe. Someone who would definitely improve our team, & add some much needed body in our midfield.

The fact that we've had scouts watch him in the not too distant past, even though we check out alot of talented players, make me a bit optimistic. That said, i'm convinced that if we wanted to sign someone who's taking part in the Euros and we don't sign him before the tournament, we'll be priced out of a move after it.

As i understand it, i think we're planning on bringing in another player or two after the Euros, as Tatty alluded to.
But i get where you're coming from Jay, as regards possibly getting priced out of a move for Strootman.

Reporting that with Van Bommel's return he could be considering his options, as he will be forced out of the side. I don't know the formation PSV play, so maybe there's room for the both of them. But this could work one of two ways as V.B. has only signed a one year contract; Strootman may recognise that V.B. is an experienced player who he can learn from for a season or two, or he may feel unjust at being forced out the side & seek football elsewhere.
Hopefully he will want to move & we will act (or have already acted as the reports suggest), £14million for a 22 year old is a purchase which abides by the clubs transfer policy & you have to say in today's market is a decent price.

If Strootman got pushed out of any team for Mark van Bommel he should demand to leave.

It looks like van Bommel has replaced him in the Dutch side today as well. It's too bad, because I was really looking forward to getting a look at him.

He was poor too.Every time he tried to "surge" forward he lost possession.I would be very surprised if VB starts anymore games. Kaear (SP?,CB) was outstanding for the Danes.
