Yeah good point. I was a wee bit disappointed with didn't pick up Fer, who joined Norwich for 8 mill I think? He could have done a good job for us. Shades of Dembele that. Big lad, great feet and pretty mobile. Let's hope hindsight is kinder this time.

We'll sign him for £35m from Roma next summer, it's the United way

If anything we won't be signing him as, you know, he's a midfielder.
Surely that's the United way.

83 Pages on Vidal. I would love to see 100 pages for this lad. We could have signed him in 2013.. Only Moyes could prefer Fellaini to this guy for 3 times the price. What a talent and what a warrior. I hope he recovers and comes to United we have longed for a player like this for many years since Robbo and Keano left

Stroot >>> Vidal - nuff said Aye he has been rehabbing like the professional that he is, and I've little doubt that he'll come back 100%, the way he plays, he does not strike me as the kind of player that will have the mental issues with the injury as some others do. I think Vidal was nothing more than a distraction, a bone thrown out there to get the press and "pundits" chasing each others asses and yapping with the real footballers conducted business. What is really nice is that with the team that is being built, LvG will have the luxury of being able to give players rests, not only to help prevent injury, but to have specific players available for specific opponents. That depth is going to be important going forward

No to Strootman. Too many left pegs in the squad as is. After watching the club play on Sunday, my faith in LvG, which was rock solid before, has increased 10Fold. Putting aside the quality of the players that he has asked Ed to sign, what has really thrilled me is the way they came into Old Trafford with less than a weeks training, or coming off lengthy time off for injuries, and they really played lights out. Stroot is a player LvG has said he definitely wants to be playing with his club, and I've no doubt if he brings him in, his quality will be immediately apparent I've only seen him a couple times, but he is impressive

My only concern is who will sit if Strootman, Herrera, Blind, Mata are all after the 3 CM spots in a 4-3-3?

Would love to have Stroots, but would be happier to give Blind an Herrera a run and see how they perform. Then, we can analyse whether we want him or not. Anyway, compared to the general consensus, Jan looks very unlikely to me. If we sign him, it would be next summer.

if hes going to cost an arm and a leg, then we should look elsewhere. Fergie and DD let him pass and there must be reasons.
He played well for Roma pre injury and he played well for LVG in the Dutch qualifiers but he hasn't done enough to warrant 30-40 mill. The reality is he wouldn't start every game for us. He would line up in the matches we need to pressurise opposing midfields, but he is unlikely good enough to keep Blind, Carrick, Fletcher and Herrera off the team full time so wouldn't be worth the figure Roma will try and drive up.
I'd take a punt at 15-20 mill though
